awesome work so far look forward to the final versions
When your tracks are as beautiful as the car's you have been built, the tracks will meet the Standards of S39s Sebring Track
Amazing, one question that's very important to me.
Will it include the endurance pits? or is that the surprise you teased
Since the Spa 24 hour is perhaps the most important event for the gt3 cars that you guys are famous for.
No. Please don't start on this or get a topic derailed by such comment, as a joke or by something you don't know anything about.
Hey Apex will this be released for free or as a pay mod?
Just a small preview of the work on 3DS Max viewer. While Highland County Raceway goes on a brief hold (we may aim to make it a 2019 layout), some of our guys decided to not really go on vacation:
Looking forward to this one.
Can you bring us some news ?
Unfortunately this is in a hiatus. We found a talented track artist but the desire to work on content, free or paid, has greatly diminished seeing the lack of support or interest for existing work, lack of interest in non-DLC cars or tracks (see our 2019 Indycar mod), and joy with the game. When possible he's been occupied doing his own contracted work elsewhere.
An idea would be a crowdfunding situation but it is doubtful the needed goal would be reached. All of us want to see some great circuits come to life and hope things change but it is far more difficult when your living comes or depends on it. We will not abandon this quest.
Well...Sadly this is not the first project which will never see the happy end . I remember at least 15 tracks threads that has been abandoned in the last 2/3 years from other authors.
I think you can make it a paid DLC and many would be happy to pay 7-8$ for this track.
Currently we'd have to raise at least about 700-800 paid downloads' worth at that rate to get a professional-grade, proper circuit at the extent that Spa is, and especially the better layout and atmosphere we'd all prefer. And still without personal motivation it is a difficult ask for someone. So far we have raised <50 Euros in donations in 12 years and postponed paid projects due to the investment required. The 2019 Indycar mod was a labour of love that required $$$$, is regularly used by drivers (not for training outside of Indy since the tracks aren't available in the game) and not a single server is around.
Expecting open wheel mod that is not F1 to be widely used by a small user base... especially online... dude... are you sure you are in this simracing thing for more than 6 months? That's some very unrealistic expectation...
Even F1 mods would have problems to find space in the community if they had proper physics...
You seem to imply that a third party car is necessarily not as good as a first party one, which couldn't be further from the truth. In fact, recent experience shows that third party mods are better than first party ones.
You have been in this simracing thing for a while, but it doesn't stop you from saying the silliest things, be it here or on discord. Being there for years doesn't make you the expert you think you are.
No and I know 3rd party can be better than official content, heck I complained about it quite a lot considering the quality of the DLC.
It's a matter of open wheel cars being too much for the majority of the players and being a mod wont help simply because mods are not widely used as ppl think (comparing downloads x amount of users, even AC shows interesting numbers) only F1 would break that barrier but with proper physics (and the Apex Indycar mod got this) it wouldn't be used either, you just need to check "F1" leagues, proper mods are rarely used. Indycar, slower open wheels, expecting anything like that to be widely used is just fantasy (even official stuff is not much used). Unfortunately this applies to other content as well like historics.
My post wasnt an offense
I dont see myself as an specialist. Feel free to apply the statement to yourself.
In other words: if you are a modder tone down your expectancy, too much times these groups get unnecessarily disappointed. And if we talk about online use then lower it even more.
*This also applies to league hosting, if you are an admin lower your expectancy if using certain cars/tracks and get to know your userbase especially its size.
