It all began a long time ago... as a 1999 Le Mans mod for rFactor (1) based on the Virtua_Le Mans 1999 mod with authorization to use all of the content - made easier since one of our members, Yoss, was once part of that team. However, with rFactor2 we realized we couldn't use the existing 2D and 3D assets as they were just too dated and restarted from scratch.

It has been a massive undertaking and a long time in the making but we're finally crossing the finish line. We get to celebrate the 25 years of the 1999 Le Mans race with some iconic machinery!

Cars (click on the links below to access their Steam Workshop pages):
The cars feature our own 3D animated driver, the latest rF2 shaders, and different downforce packages with different handling characteristics. We want to thank our team (Yoss and Gwee), everyone who has helped with something at one stage or another, and our Patrons who have provided us with coffee/hot chocolate/baguettes, and who got to see the project evolve and got to share their thoughts through the many betas made available. If you'd like to join our Patreon, click here. If you'd like to do a one-time donation, please click here (or find the same links in our signature).

You can find templates here and additional setups here.

This new topic has been created due to the previous being over 6 years old and a lot has changed since then. We hope to have a new beta update for the two LMGTP cars available this month to our Patreons as well as the first testing beta build of both Viper and Porsche cars! We will announce more when we have further news, including if we're able to commit those betas for testing :).

We've got a little unexpected surprise. The BMW V12 LMR's very first beta build is available on our Patreon. We're making this one available to all tiers to thank the folks who have supported us - and anyone curious to check it out. Just click the link on the signature :).

The graphics are far from finished but the physics are advanced.

That was one we had in the old SCC mod for GTR2, but one area I could never solve was the cooling. The radiator drew air up from underneath the nose so cooling was affected by the ride height. The closer to the ground, the less efficient the radiator was in cooling. Never figured a way to imitate that. Looks marvelous btw...

The 1998 car had the big issue with cooling, it was changed for 1999.

An early beta of our 1999 Nissan R391 (to give the BMW V12 LMR a buddy) is available through Patreon!

Whilst still needing new textures, it has:
  • Complete new physics on N°23 skin .
  • Reworked window rendering on cockpit.
  • Added buttons , writing and cables on cockpit.
  • First pass on PBR on rims and cockpit carbon.
  • Complete reworked Motec with last tech on digital rendering .
  • Added low drag and normal drag upgrade

Our GT2 Porsche is reaching a release point. We're now at version .90, with physics work potentially finished, with only visuals left to go. We still have our legacy non-official liveries without PBR but we'll be looking to address this in the near future. The latest build of the Porsche and our other not-quite-ready 1999 cars are available to our Patreon subscribers (even if you only sign up for one month). On that note, thank you to the handful of folks who have persisted through the months and provided us with an extra pizza or baguette every month :).
