I tried it but went back to paddle shift. Its just not the same without force feedback through the shifter to feel your way into a gear.

Like the 917 its among the best mods out there IMO, including the S397 products. Well worth a $25 donation......

Thank you and sorry for off topic but if anyone knows what could be the cause for Ferrari not showing in cars list.
I am using new UI and have successfully installed some other mods.
Mod name clash? (I have some other Ferrari 512 mod)

The long awaited companion to the 917, superb car, good default setup (adjust gearing to the track), H shifter if possible.
    Congratulations to APEX Modding.
    Cheers.

Thank you and others for the effort.
Probably I wasn't clear enough, my problem is that I don't have this entry in game although I am subscribed. I even verified rf2 files through steam, probably first time ever I did that.
Not to derail this thread anymore, it's got to be something on my end, I 'll try to enable logging and open new thread if needed.
    Thx again.

We've been looking forward to this one after the 917... Thanks!

Do you guys have access to a DD wheel? I tried the mod with my SC2 Pro and used the 'soft' steering option - but even with a significantly reduced in-game FFB percentage, the FFB feels very heavy in places and has an odd notchy feel. I can feel some really good things in there (loss of steering forces when you lock up the fronts or understeer for example) but the overall balance of forces doesn't feel great yet with my DD setup.

    my first public opinion. ;)
The FFB feels good with the original configuration of my T500 (if I use a custom one it becomes stronger and you have to hold the steering wheel well in Sebring (I love it). In terms of chassis and suspensions I like how it goes, those hard braking and short before locking the tires See the nose lean ...
The engine brake is also noticeable when I lengthen the curves too long and when I lift the accelerator pedal the car returns to its line, if I compare it with the 330P mod this is more noble and there is not so much oversteer perhaps that difference of years has improved in as for traction. It is easier to drive in that aspect and more permissive with errors, also the brakes respond quickly. The Porsche 917 is perhaps a little more nervous when accelerating out of the curves and is slightly missed in the Ferrari.
As always a great job Apex Team

I’m struggling a bit with the 512S, to be honest. I don’t know if it’s just because I’m running a DD and feeling more detail than others, but...

It seems to follow road camber like a crazy thing - we’re currently trialling it at Woochoo’s “Le Grand Circuit” and, as an example, at the flat-out “Courbe des Hunaudieres” towards the end of the main straight, the car just dives for the apex with no driver input needed and with the steering FFB going very light. This corner has a good deal of positive camber and is a fairly extreme example but illustrates some of the nervousness I’m experiencing all over the place.

Maxing out the caster angle helps (and restores some of the mid-corner feel that seems to be generally absent) but I still feel as if some momentary forces are almost reversed.

The thing is, if I jump into the 917 with the same DD setup, I get a much more ‘normal’ FFB experience - the steering weights up progressively in corners and unloads and reverses weight naturally during an oversteer moment...

I know you're busy right now but any chance of the open top 512S and the earlier "Daytona" nose (pic below as I doubt any of these survive in this configuration as the Scuderia changed them after Daytona but appeared in all customer cars which then they all became the 512M - this is having seen the chassis registry) [registry]
    Thanks
[edit] PS If there is a Can-Am mod, then this car should be redone as the 712M and the 512 Can-Am (like the Spyder but an exposed windshield)
