[WIP] Apex Modding - 1970 Sportscar Championship

Did set steering to hard instead of the soft as default but still no joy

Very low forces in the wheel, i have a SIMHUB FFB dashboard and it barely goes to 30% of the gauge

The porsche feels and handles brilliantly by comparison so I wonder why such behavior with the Ferrari

Any help appreciated

I've found that the suspension set-up has a pronounced effect on the FFB for the 512. Caster and toe settings, plus transferring more weight on to the front end produce a stronger more definite response. Adjusting the FFB multiplier to produce reasonable forces across the range that the car generates has worked well for me.

Although I have found that track surfaces need a bit of life to them to give a decent FFB experience. Circuits that I know to be pan flat, with no low frequency undulations or varying cambers are still underwhelming.

Thanks for the advices, i will definitivelly try but really there is a big gap
Any chance to share your suspensiond and camber setup?

Did you also adjust the steering set in customize?

Thanks a lot

I don't have a set-up. I just played with values to see if my memories of how the car reacted to my first experiments were correct. Increasing caster to maximum and then increasing positive front toe two clicks definitely made an improvement to how much feel there was around centre. Negative front toe was an unpleasant experience with the wheel being tugged into the corners.

Once there was decent feedback around the middle of the steering range I looked to adjust the car specific multiplier in the FFB section of the calibration page. I find that more precise than the three options on the customization page.

Outstanding update. The sound is much better now. Only little issue I found so far while spending a few hours with the car is that I can look through the mirrors (needs a texture mapped on the rear) and the undertray shadow of the car seems a tad week. But that's complaining on a very high level. Certainly worth a coffee (or two). :D
