Great update! So much fun to drive. One bug: The mirrors on the 917 aren't independently adjustable. The Ferrari's are fine.

Thanks for all your hard work!

Only just seen this, wonderful, thanks I will do some driving over the weekend. Although I have been driving with CMS anyway....

A ton of work underway now, literally full-time hours on top of regular work, to get additional liveries to cover at least a couple of races. The plan is for every car that raced and is currently modeled - meaning the Langheck and Codalunga aren't included - to be represented.

One thing I remember from the McQueen movie, the Rabbit Porsche that jumped out to the lead had a much lower ride height. Both Ferrari's and 917's had that old school look, perched several inches above the roadway. The white 917 (longtail?) just sat lower.

Cosmetically I've noticed the black duct tape around the headlight lenses on the 917K's, doubt it had anything to do with aero though ?.

I will try to make some liveries for the 1970 season.
Will the LH and Codalunga be added to the mod sometime? :)
At some point they will be developed, yes :).

Any GT cars planned for this mod? The Corvette C3 raced at Le mans in 1970 along with all the 911's of course.
No, we don't have the manpower for an expanded grid with a different category - but we'd definitely welcome if they could be developed, from scratch, especially if more period tracks came out too!

C’est la vie. The 1973 911 RSR plays pretty well with theae cars. If only we could get the Corvette C3 and the Porsche 914. Anyways, one day maybe. Thank you guys for all your hard work. The 512 and 917 are amazing!

Gave the update a spin and it's great to see the Porsche with the the removed mirrors. Thank you very much for that nice historic touch. The Ferrari looks and drives great. One little thing that would make it perfect would be better sound samples. Maybe you can get your hands on the sound samples from the WSC1970 mod for rF1 as they had fantastic, raw sounding engines across the board. The current sound in rF2 is a bit digital for the 512 while the 917 sounds just about perfect. But that's pretty much my only complaint. Considering you are doing all this for free I feel a bit stupid to make requests, but it would be the icing on the cake for the 512. Now if S397 would add the option for dirt build up shaders we would have the perfect gritty Le Mans feeling from the movie. Keep at it with your fantastic work please and thank you very much. ;)

Yes, sounds can be improved in the Ferrari, especially the overlap between a certain RPM range. It's difficult to recruit and maintain modders, we are two people at our core and have had two sound guys flake out. We are pursuing other avenues of cooperation but time will tell.

Talking about human limitations, one of our two people spent an average of 9 hours a day since Thursday to get liveries sorted for a few of the 1970 rounds. That's more hours than a full-time job on top of having a full-time job. Once we get some early testing going, we will then implement all of them into the mod and hopefully have it out before the end of the month.

Thanks for your response. I think no matter how you proceed it'll be great as all your other projects so far. ;)

hello.

I have your GT3 pack and really loving the FFB in those even compared to s397 official ones, so great job!

I just installed the 512 in the hope to get the same satisfactory level with my TSPC racer wheel but teh FFB feels completely dead and steering is very very light. any recommendation how I could troubleshoot this?

thanks so much
