I'm looking for a progressive or step-linear spring that has this sort of shape:

I have a CSP v2 arriving soon and i want to change the spring on the spring-damper unit because from reading around it isn't that strong.

This guy made a nice video on his modification and i hope to replicate it but i can't find any progressive springs of the same measurements in the uk.

It has some tight-ish dimensional tolerances of 90-100mm in length. The inside diameter cannot be less than 18mm and outer diameter/thickness of 22-25 mm. This would mean a 2-3.5mm coil diameter/thickness.

Does anyone know of a good rc source in the uk i could look up or call up to find the part i need?

Since you're in the UK you could try here. http://www.entexstocksprings.co.uk/

Or you could try your local hobby store and check out springs made for RC cars and other vehicles.

Or this company reckons they will make from 1 to 5000000

Be very interested to hear your opinion on the pedals, especially the degressive clutch, and the damper system on the brake. I'm surprised by the dimensions of the spring as that would be nothing like the V1 springs and it didn't look like they had changed that much.

Yeah that spring is 30mm longer than V1 I believe.

Not sure if you've had a look at the nixim springs available, might not be the right size but you could find out dimensions and even ask if they'll custom one for you, brake spring would be the closest one to what you're looking for I think, it's a little bit shorter though:

Yes at a glance the ones in my tuning kit are about 60-75mm and 12-15mm internal and not progressive (obviously)

Thanks Murtaya but i'd hate to think how much a custom made springs from them would set me back.

Unless you ask you don't know, and they might have something off the shelf. Samples are often free from large companies. When I was looking at vinyl wrap a few phone calls netted me free samples that would have cost a fortune on ebay etc.

Damn....all these sites either don't sell them or for a custom spring it's at least £100.

Try this I'm using this on my brake pedal, its a big difference in stiffness with the original one and has a perfect fit on the damper.

I bought a stronger normal compression spring from ebay for the damper on my CSP V2's for under £5, mainly to return the pedal better as the damper slows the return a lot even with the thinner fluid.

Until you get the pedals you don't know this is going to be an issue. If it was a big issue I would personally try to make a spring, this isn't precision engineering, you just want a certain feel and if this is on the brake I gotta say sounds like it is to make a less than real brake pressure feel a bit better. On the V1s if move the rod into the top hole on the brake you get much more realistic brake pressure and travel, I can't believe this or that type of spring would make the slightest difference if you can set the V2s the same way. Have they changed it that much?

Oh I see it's the fluid...

    I await the review.

I thought you had v1's smithaz.

Thanks Adrian but no luck. :(

I just can't find an rc progression spring anywhere.

I may just get a regular spring instead.

Does anyone know the name/brand of the rc shock use on the csp v2? I've just called up an rc shop that might be able to help me but i need to know the shock in question.

edit: Never mind...i give up trying to find a progressive spring. Going to buy a selection of linear springs instead.
