I Think all these small annoying things... Missing shadows, bad AA, rain coming into the car etc. They ruin the experience alot for many ppl. Im starting to Think these things are just not fixable. If they were they would have done it by now because it would have shut up all us moaners. I have never even seen any isi mention it once that it Was being worked on. I hope they prove me wrong though !
The ignorance of certain people is and not only that chaos with the half-baked software what to accept makes it a jigsaw, the behaviour and approach around is. No one doubts the potential QA of rf2 i think, though the priorities shall be submitted in question in my opinion. Now I'm tired and I have not the pleasure to support further ignorant's or to argue against, while it was always intended positive but the result is nothing but ingratitude. edit: impossible sugarcoat things constantly if a plurality of people do not like something and mention this frequently it is actually stupid to not immediately respond to them promptly or and rethink things may, unless a very special individual's user base is intended. On duration it is collateral damage and people will give up more and more.
I thought they fixed the issue in 342, but without updated tracks it still persists. It was both a core and track issue IIRC.
I don't see it as fixed, cause I have it all over the place and I hate it... You commented on it on your Corvette EGT video too... Loved you "you can put lipstick on it, but it's still just rFactor 2"
Looks to me like this thread has served its purpose. It's just the "usual suspects" rehashing what they have already said a dozen times. *yawn*
Well it's just like the HDR changes they made. It was a core change, but they didn't update the tracks to take more full advantage of the change.
WHY AREN'T SHADOW DISTANCES AN OPTION WITH SLIDERS FOR EACH USER????? UGH THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN HERE FOR TWO YEARS NOW AND IT BOGGLES MY MIND AS IT IS THE ONE THING THAT MAKES RF2 LOOK TERRIBLE, ONE OF THE ONLY THINGS UGGGGGGHHHH!!!!!!!! end rant sorry.
Afaik joe isn't done setting up shaders yet at all. A slider might simply make something like this a greater negative than you feel it is already. Sent using Tapatalk - excuse the short post, etc
No clue but just for the hell of it I wrote a simple little console app that will take a cam file and then patch it with better ranges and then rename then spit out a new file. My first test was with VLM's LeMans. Before patching, with shadows set to Max the car shadows would pop in and out. After patching it with my little app I have shadows at all times. No more popping in and out. Here is my tool: https://dl.dropbox.com/s/quftwfhrjx09uf2/ShadowFixer.exe It's very simple. You just run this cmd line tool supplying the path to your original cam file. It will then rename the old cam file to <filename>.cam.bak and write a new one with improved shadow ranges. You can simply drag and drop a cam file onto this EXE and it will do the same.
Jeremy Miller @jeremymmiller Why was the unstable delayed? Fix submitted for replay shadows, better mp physics, faster mp lobby list. Building and testing today.
