Any way to turn down or off, the anouncer volume. I was just in a race on the Sebring circuit & the anouncer was so loud I could still hear it over the engine during the race. I am quite happy with all other sound volumes & have them set to my taste. I was using the Apex GT3 cars if it make any difference.
Try looking in Options... you can tune a bunch of the audio parameters there. Options, Audio tab, Spotter Volume. Or are you talking about the background announcer you hear only while in the pits?
No thats not it. I set it to zero & saved, but it was still the same. Also tried trackside ambient. SteamLibrary/steamapps/common/rFactor 2/UserData/player/player.JSON Is there more than one .JSON file?
I'm confused by what you refer to as announcer. The voice you typically hear in rF2 is from the spotter, which is sort of like your race engineer on the radio. The track announcer is something different, it's an ambient voice you can hear on some tracks. To turn off spotter, just go to audio settings and put spotter volume to 0%. Third option is that you have some plugin like Crew Chief installed, which makes the voice. In that case uninstall the plugin.
I'm referring to the announcer, not the spotter. As you say, heard only on some tracks. There are no plugins running. I can remember on one of the earlier car sims, maybe Gtr2, I would remove one of the sound files to get rid of the announcer. If you try the Sebring circuit I'm sure you will hear it.
It's an ambient sound of the track what you are hearing i think. I have no idea if you can lower that volume but a wild guess would be no.
Speaking of ambient sounds... Does anyone remember the 'fans_normal' sound bug in rF1? That thing drive me insane for months before I found the fix! In rF1 you could remove ambient sounds, I don't know if you can access those files in rF2. If you can, then its a 30 second job.
You can't because you need to unpack the MAS, delete the files, repack the MAS, and probably you'll have a mismatch online.
You've done your bit... doesn't look like it's adjustable. Guess you'll have to turn up the engine volume!
