How can you turn off this annoying advertising?
Delete rFactor 2\Core\UIData\PREGAME.avi
I watch it happily because I get to see 1966 cars and roads for like a few frames
delete the steam folder.
You can also just press escape, and it will stop it.
I'm with Seven, DELETE is better!
Don't need that sort off thing on any game.
You want to advertise? Fine, do it here and/or Discord sins it's the main source S397 use these days.
This will not last forever, why so dramatic. It is also advertising an event so...
If this was the case we could trust that it's short term unfortunately past history says to the contrary. We're still carrying trash for a promotion that happened 3 years ago.
Thanks bro ;-)
Where is this advertising?
What have i do to watch it?
just log onto rF2. It should appear after you click the helmet or helmets icon at the launcher screen. It is a very short movie that plays where normally we would see the rF2 logo and then the car/track/options page.
Huh I didnt see this movie when I got on to do some laps on our dedi server. (I have VR) I just saw some flashing logos and such. Was pretty off putting to be honest.
The logo is the start of the movie. It is sooooo annoying, all ya have to do is hit the esc key. You probably hit the key without thinking.
And they did warn us about a new graphic in the boot process when they announced the tie in with Ford vs. Fe...I mean Le Mans 66.
In VR you don't see this video but if you start in 2D you'll see it.
It is a bit annoying when working on a skin and you keep loading to view changes made to the skin.
But it probably brings in money to S397 which no one should be moaning about as we could all benefit by them making business deals.
Yeah, how dare the studio raise some extra revenue with something that can just be skipped by hitting escape?
So I didn't have to delete rF and reinstall it!
That's what the average Steam user seems to do. First sign of trouble, uninstall-reinstall.
We should write a generic rF2 problem solver which will address 99% of problems encountered...
Step 1 - Uninstall and reinstall rFactor 2.
Step 2 - Verify Steam files.
Step 3 - Opt out of Beta.
Step 4 - Clear CBASH and SHADERS folder.
Step 5 - Delete contents of player and controller json files.
Step 6 - Swap controller USB ports.
Step 6 - Enact satanic ritual (human sacrifice optional).
Step 7 - Set fire to PC and accept the upsetting reality that you're now forced to play Project Cars on XBox for eternity.
That's a bit bloody over the top don't ya think.
I understand you have to make an example of them but to what extremes.
The first part is fine, standard stuff. After that the people will freak out and be terribly confused about the sacrifice.
I'm just glad it's you and not me that has to tell them it's all got to go,,,,the Cbash and the Shaders.
After that, it's all easy. They won't understand what the fuss was all about.
