The cat was not amused, like all cats.

Well, the funny thing was that the cat going through the wood chipper sounded EXACTLY like when the ball bearing went away on my old ATI card.

    Same experience here:

    2014-01-17 22:38:17 - rFactor2
    Frames: 10013 - Time: 194393ms - Avg: 51.509 - Min: 35 - Max: 71

    XFX R7950 3GB DD (Catalyst vers. 13.9)
    i5 3570k Ivy Bridge
    Corsair 8GB PC3 DDR3 1600MHz
    MSI Z77A-G43.
128GB Samsung 830 SSD. (OS only)
    Seagate 1TB Barrac.

If you are like me and bought your rig especially for this game it's not a satisfying performance, OR experience, euphemistically speaking..
Stop the blame game if there is one and fix this asap please.

Edit: forgot to switch to cockpit view in replay. Results updated.
    (no big changes)

It looks as if AMD do not care much because the performance with the current 14.2 and the current build is absolutely frustrating with a 290 :(

I downloaded 14.2 1.3 beta drivers tonight and installed them, had 14.1s in before.
I have 7870 2 gig running 3x 24 inch monitors at 4800 x900 res. admittedly I don't run full graphics but with 494 build standard HDR setting and new drivers, great stuff.
FPS locked at 60 and game runs smooth as a bun,
1st league race for us tonight, not a big filed but average field 14 cars, Clios at Mills, fps dropped max of 5 all night,
    New drivers great I reckon.

I have installed 14.2 beta 1.3 drivers yesterday and didn't noticed any improvements, so I went a bit further and did some benchmarks of the few last drivers I still had on my PC. I am playing in crossfire 2x HD6870, 1680x1050, 4x AA Supersampling, AF 4x, Framepacing ON, Windows 8.1 x64

    Silverstone - Practice - 1 car only
Benchmarked using Fraps, 3 identical runs x 2 minutes, chosen best of three.

MIN - AVERAGE - MAX / TOTAL FRAMES

    14.2 beta 1.3
    58 - 88 - 110 / 10609

    14.1 beta 1.6
    62 - 86 - 108 / 10361

    13.12 WHQL
    66 - 95 - 120 / 11463

    13.12 Tweakforce Edition
    66 - 97 - 122 / 11696

    13.11 beta 9.2
    56 - 85 - 107 / 10267

    12.11 beta 11 - CAP 2
    23 - 115 - 126 / 13825

So to summarize this, 13.11 drivers were giving me the worst performance while 12.11 offered the best perfomance and smoothest gameplay of them all, but I had textures flickering while using it in crossfire which I could not stop no matter what settings I changed.

My preference of choice would be 13.12 WHQL and for now I will stick with them as they giving me better results than 14.xx series.

Wow, wow, wait a sec....Are you saying that AMD themselves said that they are going to look at specifically RFactor 2? If this is true then this is sort of a big deal, you should maybe start a new thread and sort of "announce" it as many people are leaving/selling their beloved AMD cards specifically because of RFactor 2...

They said that their technicians will look at it. ( They did not mention rfactor2) unfortunately i have already deleted the email. I don't think that they will loik after it. It's just their standard response...

it looks hopeles for ati users (ati 7950 and amd fx6100 here) - with new build i lost like 30-50% of fps. its really unplayble now. Reduced some graphical setting more down but it doesnt help. Im still getting drops below 30 fps.

Damn so the ATi/AMD story hasn't really changed much since my first ATi card (Rage 128 with 32mb ram): they produce great hardware and completely worthless software/drivers.

My next card is definitely nVidia, even if benchmarks show I could get twice fps per dollar with AMD, I will never buy AMD card again probably.

The real problem though is not whether we have good cards now; the problem is that if AMD continues to suck in the future, Intel&nVidia will soon have monopoly..

I am desperate. Although I have a GPU that should easily run rfactor2 with high settings it is stuttering and my frames are at 50-60. The framedrops destroy the gameplay and it sometimes freezes when the car spinns around and the tires produce smoke. I have tried almost everything but nothing really helps. I see guys with outdated nvidia cards playing the game with better quility and stability than me .... should I again contact the support? Will this change something?

there's been a few people with your card having issues on this forum, dont know the technicalities but maybe it's your card + whatever AMD driver or RF2 just does'nt like your card full stop.
RF2 runs fine with my AMD card albeit worse than an equivalent nVidea but still plenty good enough.
