I dont know what other hardware you are running with the 7850 card, but my mainboard, cpu and ram are from 2009, phenom 720 overclocked to 3400, 4 gig 1066 ram on win 7 64 bit. I also run three 20 inch screens in eyefinity from the single card I used the ati express uninstall from windows control panel, removed all ati software, then did the 14.4 ati install. With that the transformation was instant, quite suprised, but very happy!
this is RF2 almost full whack (bar environment reflections and full shadows) i dont think it looks that bad, not up against pcars and AC but not that horrific.
Where are all the naysayers who condemned rF2's "antique" gfx engine for low FPS. It's the drivers, stoopid.
The way I do it is download the driver from AMD, go to control panel and uninstall the AMD graphics driver related software (go custom uninstall, incase there is stuff you want left there unrelated to graphics drivers), and then restart the computer. Install the new driver (custom install to get rid of the junk they throw in) and then restart again.
thats what i did first .. i uninstalled all the AMD related software and started from scratch.. ( ive had no problems so far)
I had the same problem, it's a bit silly that AMD have given up on Vista The good news is that there is a work around, after a quick search on the AMD forum's I found a way to use the 14.4 drivers on Vista, it worked for me and I got a nice 15-20 fps boost. Check the link below for the details. http://forums.amd.com/game/messageview.cfm?catid=454&threadid=169548&enterthread=y
Ok, as i assume, there is none improvement for 6000 series cards, actually is much worse by results: 22 Cars, Silverstone, FULL settings, Sunny day Reply Benchmark, cockpit view: 12.11 beta: 2014-04-29 12:32:35 - rFactor2 Frames: 8121 - Time: 213518ms - Avg: 38.034 - Min: 29 - Max: 48 14.4: 2014-04-29 13:15:48 - rFactor2 Frames: 6825 - Time: 213831ms - Avg: 31.918 - Min: 25 - Max: 39 So i have a feeling most of people(at least 5000, 6000 series users) get better results because something was going wrong with their previous driver or game files(they have a lot bloatware, broken files, odd(different) settings or whatever) I can only speak for 6000 series cards, stay away from this driver if rf2 is your main thing. 12.11 beta driver is still the king for 6000 series for rf2. I think results speak for themself.
Also worth pointing out those 2 upper pics are from a 3rd party track converted from rF1 I believe. AC will not look very good either if you run rF1 tracks with it.
I don't think so, as i was trying this before, to switch to original bios. An there was none visible differences with any of drivers i try. Ok maybe 1 FPS more with unlocked shaders
Im using an ancient HD4870 1gb (with pretty old drivers anyway) so I guess installing those drivers isn't going to be beneficial for me huh? Can anyone confirm?
You should uninstall the old drivers first. I use the this tool to do it. http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/AMD-Clean-Uninstall-Utility.aspx Just fallow the instructions. After you 're donne with that install the new drivers, again just falllow the instructions.
