I have created my own mod. Along with that I created my own talent file for my drivers. However I am not sure if the talent file is even working, or if it is done properly. I wanted to create a consistent pecking order, but playing with the values in the talent file I cant seem to get it right. The grid is completely jumbled in each race and there is no consistency. I am using the FISIR cars, so they all have the same physics. The talent file was then created into a RFCMP compnent called FV2015_TALENT. I have also created FV2015.mas, FV2015_TEAM.mas, and FV2015_CAR.mas. These were then put together to make FV2015_car.rfcmp. The drivers and teams are completely jumbled up also. Take for instance in the image: Hugh Dwyer and Scott Parsons are in the same team, but there is a four second gap between them despite their talent not being so close to each other. May I please ask some advice on this, because as it stands the headaches of trying to get a consistent pecking order is very confusing.
You don't create an RFCMP for Talent any more (or at least I stopped doing that ages ago), the RCD file goes into it's own MAS file which then is included (alongside the other MAS files) when building the package. Also a good way to test if the Talent file is working is to deliberately make 1 or 2 drives with 0 values and check in game that that they are much slower, when they are you can then reset their values. Edit for clarity: from the 494 changelog 26th Feb 2014 - "Now looking for driver RCD files in vehicle components as well as (hopefully soon to be phased out) talent components."
Hi Marc, thanks for your reply. Sorry I made a mistake in my OP; I haven't actually created a RFCMP for my talent, it only has a mas file. Also I understand your last point, but most of my drivers in the same team have similar values but there is still an inconsistent spread. Though I will still try your idea, thanks. Another I will point out is that the talent.mas is not included with the other mas files (car, team) which were then put together to create the rfcmp component. Could this be a reason?
Just because drivers have similar values does not mean they will always be the same, similar yes but don't forget the many other variables that go into AI regardless of Talent. Again giving 1 or 2 all 0 values helps to identify in the first place that the RCD is working correctly, otherwise it can be difficult to tell (doesn't take long to do a quick test). Could be yes, I include my talent.mas file in all my teams RFCMP packages, so add them in there and do the test above. Edit: Default player.JSON file too, the Spread value in there can mess things up and give different results if you're not careful
I had a play around with some values. I gave Enrique Ruiz all '0' in speed, qualifying speed, and composure. I gave Elroy Wagner all '100' in the same skill areas. When I go to the track and finish qualifying, the results are no different. The field is still spread out by 12 seconds and there is nothing that stands out from those two drivers; I was hoping that Ruiz would be at the bottom and Wagner at the top. This is what I got instead. I made a mas file which included the RCD file. I then added this to the RFCMP file with my other mas files. Also would there be any reason in particular why the grid is so spread out. Think I've sussed it, at the top of the RCD you have: Formula Virtual 2015_Season IIRC I had trouble with this area until I made it one word with no spaces, so as you have Classes="FISI_2012, ISI_FM02, Formula Virtual 2015_Season" in the VEH, put the "FISI_2012" at the top of the RCD instead. I have a feeling the _ might also be an issue but try it first and report back, ignore the Spread for now as it's pointless worrying about that until the RCD is working correctly.
I've never had to do that but may be worth a shot. Could well be the _ then, annoying test but in one of the VEH files change the "Classes="to something like FISI2015, alter the two drivers in the RCD so one is 100 (everything) and the other 0 (everything), change the top of the RCD to FISI2015 and see if that works. The way I named my Talent file may also point to it being relevant so just make sure yours is named like mine: EnduroURD.RCD -> EnduroURD_Talent.MAS

Turns out the random cars in the race was my fault, a simple error in game. Anyway I have now fixed the bottom of the RCD file. Made it into a mas file, added it to the FV2015.rfcmp. Still there is nothing that is hinting a that the talent file is working. Here is how I edited two drivers RCD. I don't get these results - one race I test Wagner is ahead, another Ruiz is ahead. hmm EDIT: When I go create my single CMP package (each time I edit RCD changes) the FV2015_TALENT keeps on vanishing. The other mas files (TEAM, CAR) stay there. I am able to package them all together, but when I return to the CMP changes the talent file is not there. Also this single CMP package is for a 'Vehicle' type. Would this have anything to do with it. no you don't create an RFCMP for the talent, just a MAS and include it in the Vehicle RFCMP with all the other MAS files...as I said

in the VEH try naming the Category FV2015 as well, not that I think that'll make any difference but it's that way in mine (same as top of RCD/Classes). And/Or in Classes just have FV2015 on its own lose the other two before it.
We are starting to get somewhere now, thank you! I re-ran a qualifying session 10 times. What I found was that Wagner was fastest in 9 of those sessions, 2nd in the other. Ruiz was slowest in 7 sessions, the other three he was in the bottom 2. So I now know the RCD is working properly. I also did another test in which I fast forwarded through the qualifying session rather then clicking 'finish session'. I found instead of the field being spread by a ridiculous 14 seconds, it has now been reduced to 4 seconds. I just need to try find a way to get the pecking order correct, obviously with a little variation here and there.
Yes never 'FINISH SESSION' always use normal or accelerated time, as your RCD values are so spread out that is another reason why the 0 guy is not always finishing bottom, those with low Speed numbers will finish around him and occasionally below him unless you raise their values somewhat. Glad we got there
