Since the last update (which came with the gear protection). As the title says the AI switches to neutral when it "gives" me back the control over the car. The problem comes if I toggle this when the car is going fast --> the engine blows up. Please fix it. Thank you.
I had a similar issue when I was resuming a race from a replay. I guess the simple solution will be to ONLY save when stationary in the pits. But in this instance I was interrupted while racing and had to quickly exit. When I came back, the car should have been in 4th or 5 gear and I blew the engine immediately when I tried to shift. Using the clutch and bypassing gears didn't work when I reloaded the replay, the shift protection prevented me from shifting any higher through the sequential gears. My solution, on the third try, was to Resume the race, slow the car while coasting in neutral until I could safely shift into first and then up through the rest of the gears. This resulted in some loss of track position and extended the lap time.
davehenrie: what I'm hoping for is that they can undo what they messed up in the last update. I use this function a lot. And I mean a lot.
Hi, This issue has been fixed internally. It'll be in the next release. In the interim, it will only switch to neutral in higher than 1st gear.
