After update I can't downshift in GT3 cars.

These GT3 cars are no FUN to drive with the current tire. I want the rFPro tire. These GT3 cars are no fun with only a regulated amount of HP, I want more HP, More than the Super Trofeo levels. These GT3 cars are claustrophobic. I want open cockpit GT3s. Why isn't the car shifting itself? Do I have to do ALL the work? I wanted to pass another car but it was faster...why doesn't the other cars slow down when I'm driving?
sigh.....

At least in rF2 you can make your own GT3 cars. You can't do that in ACC, AMS2 or iRacing.

No unfortunately there currently is no Way.
But when you install Things manually, you can go an easier Way, to be able to use the original Content online.
Simply move the Subfolder with the Update out of your rFactor 2 Installation and move it back, when you want to use it offline again.

EDIT When you have more of them, you also can use *.bat Files to move them, which will be faster.
Hello

is there a video tutorial out there showing out to modify the mas file to adjust the gear protection?
Thanks in advance

It can not be made by editing a mas File, if you want to make it for DLC or Workshop Content and have automatic Update enabled, because edited mas Files will be overwritten whenever you start the Game (at least that is how it worked in the Past).
You have to create an own and small Update rfcmp, that only contains the edited Upgrades.ini.
Are you familiar with creating Update rfcmp?
I don't know if there exist a Video about it already, but i can record one, if needed.

I am on DTM Oschersleben.Just talked to an Race Driver.
The downshiftprotection in rFactor2 are wrong. When you touch throttle, you can shift down.
So, you on the brake, a little bit on Gas during down shifting, it's no problem and absolut normal to do that.

The way the cars are set to behave can change between series. To speak as if there's one correct behaviour is mistaken.

The devs said the cars behave as the documentation they were given indicated, so everyone just needs to drive them how they need to be driven. Yes, 'just'. Drive the cars the way they operate, just like a real driver would, instead of constantly and incessantly whining about "waaah I can't control my right foot help help help".

*note: slightly tipsy. Think I'm making my point though.

You can, and I and others did, find footage of complete Nords laps where NOT ONCE was throttle pressed during downshifts. It's not that hard to do.

**and yes, you can modify a car with upgrades and make it drive how you want. God forbid someone might think I'm telling them how to live their life.

Why are you fighting it and do you have an advantage if you win this battle?

Better not write anything on the internet when you're drunk and deal with your own problems.
