    Hey folks, I am looking for assistance on where to find, and where to reduce the parameters for the turbo "whoosh" sound. I came across a (so far) reasonably good mod but the engine is murdering mine and others' ears.

    Cheers.

    -Look for a .sfx file inside your mod folders (tip: open .veh files to know the complete name of the .sfx file)

    -Open sfx file and look for these lines:
    VS_INSIDE_TURBO_WHINE=1.0,soundpath\whine.wav
    VS_INSIDE_TURBO_HISS=1.0,soundpath\hiss.wav
    VS_INSIDE_TURBO_DUMP_1=1.0,soundpath\dump1.wav
    etc

    -Reduce the multiplier inside to your desired level. For example:
    VS_INSIDE_TURBO_WHINE=0.25,soundpath\whine.wav

    Thanks for the response, I never messed with .sfx and never repackaged anything, only checked HDVs, etc.

    Edit: Figured everything out myself :)

    Thanks, last night I just read through stuff and got it all done too. I only didn't publish because 1) The original source is unknown 2) I'd have to put some link to it

    You have to unpack it with Mod Manager, open the file and save it, then recompile the mod.
