Hello everyone! I try to convert some cars from rfactor to rfactor2 . However, the body painting cannot be loaded onto the car during the process. The software 3dsimed cannot be used. I cannot find the tutorial. Please help me. Thank you!

Hello Kimizhou, I'm not sure what you mean by the body painting. The pink color on the model usually indicates that you are missing textures. If you go to Tools/ Data Reports/ Missing Textures Objects and Shaders, that will list the missing textures. You'll need to either get those textures from rF1, create them, or get them from another source. Those would go into the same folder as your other textures.

At that point, you should be able to continue with the rest of the conversion process.

Note, that as you convert the rF1 shaders to rF2 shaders, you may need to create additional textures for the materials. Such as normal and specular maps.

Hello Chris Lesperance! This is the case. My car body cannot be painted with a paint color. The wccarbody channel on the right is 1 2 3 4. Do you want to install dds according to the prompts on the right? Is the cube map of channel 4 car cube dx9? After applying this car cube dx9, the red Ferrari will become the wrong color! Very confused. Thanks for your help!

I think there are more suitable ways to perform this task.

You have to take into account that 3dsimed, although it accepts dx11 shaders, does not show the real results since it works with dx9.
A lot of work to not have the desired results.

I would assign a simple texture (T1) and then work the shaders in real time in the rf2 showroom with the material editor of rfactor itself. It is a much more pleasant and productive task.

hi
have you tried this

@kimizhou Like @Brutten has said above already, i also would recommend to use the Browser based Material Editor, to add the rFactor 2 Shaders and set up the Materials.
But to be able to do that, you at first have to get the Car loading in the DevMode (in the Showroom and on Track).
Can you do that already?

Hello redapg! How to do get the Car loading in the DevMode? /rF2_onlineTools I have studied it but I really can’t understand how to operate it! Are there any specific steps?

@kimizhou The first thing is to assign the basic shader T1 to all the materials within 3dsimed.

Once you get all the pieces to have a texture you should be able to load the vehicle in the showroom. (unless you have errors in the showroom SCN or some other file is missing)

When the vehicle is shown, open a web browser and access the following address:
http://localhost:5397/materialeditor/index.html#/

There you will find the list of all the materials and you can make the necessary changes in real time.

You are a completely Beginner with Converting a Car from rF1 to rF2?
If yes, i can offer to record a Video, that shows the necessary Steps, to get a Car from rFactor 1 into the rFactor 2 DevMode.
And if you want, you can send me a rF1 Car that you want to convert, that i can use that as the Example.

Hello Brutten!, how do I load the vehicle in the showroom? Do I need to create rfcmp and put it in Packages for installation?

I offered to use a rF1 Mod, that you want to convert to rF2, as an Example, when i record a Video about how to do it.
But now i have seen that it is the FSONE08 Mod and because the Creators of that mod have explicitely forbidden all Modifications of their Work, i will not use that, to respect that.
Is it OK when i use the original rF1 FormulaIS 2006 from ISI as an Example in the Video?

EDIT And just to be more precise: I will not demonstrate the complete Conversion Process in the Video. It will just show, how you can get a rF1 Car being load- and drivable in the rF2 DevMode.

To record the full Process is impossible (in the Sense of the Time that it would last to do that), because of the different Problems that can/will appear with different Mods and a lot of other Reasons.
