Well, that has SOME advantages, but also disadvantages. There will be less debris coming onto the tracksurface, which would make that part safer, however, if you spin the angle you will hit the wall will in quite some cases be way more frontal than otherwise, making that impact more dangerous. Or you would have to make the runoffs even bigger!!!!! (which I don't think would be very likely, as it would use up A LOT of space, that many ovals probably don't have available I think). I do keep finding it insane that they drive with such cars on these ovals (but having said that, I do love to see some of the racing, mainly the Indy500)
IMO indy car is just too dangerous. This type of car should be run around purpose built race tracks not ovals and street circuits. That's fine for closed wheel, closed cockpit cars but not open wheel, open cockpit. Just my opinion.
