Thought I'd have a quick play and get the HDR selection in a position you can get to with the new UI - in case people want to try both. Hope this works, haven't done much with components etc. https://www.dropbox.com/s/pnym1nociy53u6w/Core_UI_patch.rfcmp?dl=0 Smaller text versions for those running large text in their windows... may or may not work...: 125%: https://www.dropbox.com/s/o3xl9hmmn93ohm3/Core_UI_patch125.rfcmp?dl=0 150%: https://www.dropbox.com/s/eahpbmv8750emgl/Core_UI_patch150.rfcmp?dl=0 Install as normal, select the User Interface via the main menu. Also added 8th gear in the gear ratios. Had a go at putting the select-AI-from-list button when expanding the timings list but it doesn't want to work even though you can make it visible. Must be some reason for it.
Only ISI is able to, and has access to, the coding of any parts of the game's "core" (physics, UI, graphics, tyre model, AI, etc.); sorry to be so precise, but the word "core" should be removed from your title.
Hmm... can see your point, but I wanted to emphasize this is (basically) the standard 930 UI. As an .rfcmp it never goes anywhere near the Core itself, just in packages. And I'm going to bed and don't want to reupload etc... lol
UI is not part of core, you can edit the UI as much as you want, as Eduard did with Minimalist UI (ok, technically not coding).
Oh boy... we are going to go around and around again... I see it coming. What is happening here is when Spinelli uses the word "core" is referring to the "UI engine". But others are referring to "core" as the core rF2 install. The UI in the Core folder can't be edited or else the game will no longer start. If you want to edit it you need to build a new component and give it a new name and it will not be part of the Core but instead be installed in the DataPath.
You can edit the physics (including tyre physics) of a car as well, that doesn't mean that physics and tyre model aren't part of the "core" EXE of the game. There was a patch/update to the current U.I. style/mod, just like a patch/update of the physics or tyres of a particular car mod, or the a patch/update of the graphics (eg. textures, body shape) of a particular car or track mod. The programming of the game itself hasn't changed as we don't have access to that (not to mention, it would probably require some serious programming knowledge/skill, eg. C++ or whatever). And no, you can't edit the UI as much as you want. For example, I can't edit the UI to look, feel, act, function like, for eg., AC. Just like I can't put a different tyre model or physics engine in the game. The modder is limited to the variables/amount-of-adjustment that the game engine/ISI provides. The only reason why I made mention of this is because of all the U.I. mod/style and overall "core" U.I. discussions been going on lately., or else I'm not the "grammer-nazi" type at all P.S. What Noel said.
I also want to add that I'm not saying anyone's use of the word core is wrong. There are just various uses for the word "core".
I'm in the middle of a new PC build (monitors, CPU, MB, RAM) and I need to temporarily use this patch/fix for now; t works great! Thank you!
