Maybe I can ask for your help.
In the game (not devmod) I created a test car under "human driver" and it works fine, car and skin.
Now I have followed the instructions by Mauro to bring it to devmod (maybe I will be able to create an f1 season) and I have created / copied the files including the missing dds etc
Then I also created the .veh

By starting the devmod, however, I have a problem: the car is all white; or better: driver and helmet and tires ok, but the whole "painted" part (ie the parts of the skin, but also the wheel rims) are completely white ...

I discovered that the problem is due to "MaterialOverride =" xxxx.json "; if I put the file name of an already existing one (for example ligier 77), the car is ok, with the colors of the skin defined by me etc, but if I use my json (which if I understand it is created automatically when the car is created, right?) then I only have white for all car + rims

Well, I have to say that rfactor2 is still new for me, I do not have the modding know-how, but when I found this great mod I decided to invest time in rfactor2; the “material override” topic is not clear to me at all ... I would like to know more about it but if my goal is to create one or more F1 season series (of 70's F1 cars) with this mod, should I care about that or just "make it simple" and use any of the other "Materialoverride" files already defined in the mod without any problem for my new cars ?

A couple of points when I made them I would
create the car I wanted in the human driver
I created an alt skin for it this is created in a folder named “player” in player/settings/f1 70s style
then I would adjust the template to match the car I created
Then I would create my skin and test it by replacing the alt skin in the “player” virtual skin folder
Once I was happy with the skin and region file and json file I would copy them to another folder
In this folder I all this folder build it’s where I create my final build I copied a veh file I had extracted from the mod in my case I used the Lola veh file and changed the gen string to match the car I had created
I would rename the skin files along with the required veh file and then create a mas file which can then be put in the 0.94 directory
I never changed the material override reference in the veh file and I didn’t use dev mode so I can’t help you with those parts.
The way I did it created 17 cars successfully if you open up the mas file I posted earlier you can use that as a reference

    good luck with it

Those cars are truely great, thank you Chief for the great work!

One small request, please consider set all COCKPIT cam LODMultiplier to 1.0 (default value).
The mod's current value is 2, performance aside, it breaks immersion for tracks like IOM and Targa since it reveals quite a lot floating sections which supposed to be hidden from sight with default LOD value.

    Thanks!

Spectacular!!! Thank you to you all for your fantastic work.

I have a little question. It's basically a curiosity one. Talking about Formula One from 1970's... is there any possibility that someday you make the 1977 Ferrari 312T2, in similar quality standards (for example) of the 1984 Brabham, or the fantastic 1986 cars?
Everyone remembers fast the 1976 season, Lauda-Hunt epic battle... but I always had the feeling that, the 1977 season and the 1977 Ferrari winning car are a little bit underrated.

    Cheers!!

1972 Formula One season....This will be a side project as i have some other skins to complete but i do enjoy creating these skins so you never know...
Made a few tweaks to Chiefs skins and almost finished the BRM, there is something special about a red and white Marlboro car :)

Hey Chief, do you happen to have the wire frame for the helmet? I'm attempting to make Jackie Oliver's helmet, but having issues with the visor of the Helmet_2.gmt.

I think I got the Shadow done tonight.

Forget red and white cars.... blue and white are best... hell if they are F1 in the 70's any colour is great :)

@bears, the mod have a lower and higher Cockpit Wall, on the Screenshot I can't see what you use for the Matra, I think the higher Cockpit will fit better for the Matra but maybe it is the higher one.......and.......the Matra Logo should have the same color as the Car :D
