I recently finished building an rFactor 2-only computer for my father. However, a handful of problematic vehicles are causing some kind of bottle neck and taking the framerate down from a solid 60 to a lowly 1fps. My own computer on the other hand (built with mainly the same components) runs rFactor 2 just fine, with no issue, which is kind of odd. There are only three differences between our computers: Mine: Win7 Overclocked 2500k SSD His: XP (yes I know I know, but I had an old license lying around and he'll only be using it for rFactor 2) Stock 3570k Some generic 7200rpm HDD I can't imagine the harddrive affecting framerate, so I'm guessing it's CPU or OS related (motherboard, memory, sound, graphic card are all the same). Anyway, onto the list of cars that kill the framerate: ISI cars that cause the framerate issue BT20 Formula ISI Formula 2 Marussia Mods that cause the framerate issue All United Racing Design vehicles Lola 280 Mazda 787b The final odd piece of the jigsaw is that after loading a track with a 1fps vehicle, if I then quit back to the title screen and select one of the 60fps vehicles, the game remains stuck at 1fps. It's as if simply loading one of the 1fps vehicles in flips a switch that kills the framerate. Question 1) Do you think XP or the 3570k CPU would have some compatibility issues with certain cars? Seems odd. Question 2) If it's not XP or the CPU, what do you think the cause might be and how would one go resolving it?
Have a look here as well http://isiforums.net/f/showthread.php/16458-What-sort-of-system?p=215280&viewfull=1#post215280
They're both 3GB 7950s with minimal overclocking. I tried running rFactor 2 with no overclocking, but the problem persisted sadly. Thanks MerlinC, I'll see if anything there helps.
Yeah, it's all vented with extra fans and all... but it's only a handful of cars that cause the game to run at 1fps. With most cars it's runs at 60fps. Anyway, I installed Win7 trial and rFactor2 on a separate partition and it worked fine... so I guess it was an XP issue? Time to get a Win7 license.

I noticed if You're new and embedded video in the post it takes a while to get moderated, but it will show up.
Thx, but my posts has "failed" before Once I was asked in a rather suspicious and quite rude tone why I had three rFactor licenses!!!! I´ve been suspected of cheating because I´ve buy too much before.
The forum did it instantly, did that not give you a clue? If you post an external link (which you did, to youtube) in your first post, the forum puts it in a queue for moderation. This happens to every person who posts a link to an external site in their first post. Perhaps if you had posted your own thread, rather than making an off topic reply in someone else's thread and expecting your post to be noticed, it would have been moderated faster. With the post above being your first post, can you tell me when this happened before? Do you have multiple forum accounts? Regarding you being asked about multiple rF licenses. You were asked because this is usually a sign of someone running a business without the commercial licensing to do so. That's all.
When did you follow this advice? Is it outdated? have you tried default settings? I thought about getting that GFX card a while back, and read about massive FPS problems on it. Only some cores would fire, etc.
