Reminders for Sunday's Six Hours of Mid-Ohio Event

Make sure you have already downloaded the mod prior to joining the server. If you do not have the mod or pdf, send me a private message.

    Event Format

rFactor 2 and Teamspeak 3 servers reboot: 10 AM EDT (1400 GMT)

Official Practice: 11 AM-12 PM EDT (1500-1600 GMT)

    Qualifying: 12 PM-12:15 PM EDT

    Warmup: 12:20 PM-12:30 PM EDT

Race: 12:30 PM EDT (1630 GMT)

    Race Comms

    1) You must be on the Teamspeak 3 server to hear the starter's call for green. Other Teamspeak 3 details are included in the event PDF file sent earlier.

    2) Text chat is okay during practice and warm-up, but not during qualifying or the race.

    Rules of the Road

    http://isiforums.net/f/showthread.p...ap-Teams-Event?p=175190&viewfull=1#post175190

    Qualifying

    1) This event has CLOSED qualifying not PRIVATE qualifying. You must be on the server at the end of practice and before the server switches over to qualifying or you will need to start from the back of the grid. The server is set to not allow anyone to join after qualifying starts. You can rejoin the server during warm-up. Closed qualifying is to avoid the pause drivers get when a new car joins the event.

    2) The qualifying driver for the car must start the race.

    Warm-up

You need to be back in the cockpit and ready to go when the server switches from warm-up to the driver call-up. If you miss the start, we're sorry, but we cannot restart for a driver.

    Starting Procedures

    1) The driver call-up for the race is set for 60 seconds. That means you have 60 seconds to check the settings on your car, tighten your belts, and appear on the grid.

    2) The track is set for a standing start. At the green lights and waving green flag, SLOWLY!!! roll off the grid and maintain your position.

    3) The polesitter should maintain a constant speed of 80kph.

    4) Keep a 3 car separation from the car in front of you, and offset to their position. Contact with the car in front of you may result in a drive through penalty after the start of the race.

    5) Get into 2x2 formation immediately after T3 (the keyhole) THE FIRST TIME THROUGH THE TURN and start to slowly build up speed.

    6) Race control will call a verbal "get ready" when the last row of cars is on the straightaway.

    7) Race control will call a verbal "green, green green" to start the race. You'll need Teamspeak 3 monitoring
    capabilities. :)

    8) No race restarts unless race control calls a red flag.

    9) The graphic below shows the approximate position for the start. Note: The race FINISH is the usual S/F line.

    10) If you miss the grid, you will be able to start from the pit lane, but WAIT for the green light or you will be disqualified by rFactor 2. The field will pass through sector 1, so it'll take a little while. Don't be impatient! ;)

    Driver Swaps

Reminder only two drivers per team should be on the rFactor 2 server at one time -- the current driver and the driver leaving/or about to take over as driver.

    The keyhole is t2.

    Remember this rule:
There will be no penalties for minor infractions in this race. This is NOT a SimHQ SCES race, this is a public ISI race that I started. You've already needlessly complicated this enough. This race is to test the capabilities of the rF2 engine and to have fun. Organize SCES races as you wish, but this one is to be a good experience and be fun for all involved.

SAVE THE PENALTIES FOR YOUR RACES, NOT THIS ONE. SimHQ agreed to host this race and I thank them for it, but that does not make this a SimHQ/SCES race.

    Nothing today.
But there is more to do for the season coming I guess.
And with the support of ISI I don't have any doubt that will be good.

We still have some problem with one of our drivers who can't see his pitbox sometimes...
He don't have any aussie tracks as I've read that can cause trouble...
We're a little bit afraid about that.

This may be a little late, but turn auto pit on. That will get you into the box safely.

With 1.6 hours to go, CR Team Racing is leading in the P1 category, and Team Swedish Sim Racers are leading the GT2 class.

Thanks guys. This was a great race. fantastic.

We really enjoy it. This was our first long distance race. But not our last. :D
There was really clean and fair racing.

Grats to all teams. It's great to see all cars finish.
Grats to the podium of LMP1 and GT.

Thanks to SimHQ for hosting this event. :D We see us again in the endurance series. :)

    Wow, what a race :)

Tough but lots of fun. We had a really big fight with the spanish guys over the last gt2 podium spot! Congrats to them, that was close. After 6 hours of racing we were seperated by just 12 seconds.

And, very impressive, no DNFs. Great driving by all teams.

The server in USA wasn't an help for all but the game stability was impressive.
We only knew some bug with pitbox that didn't appeared all the time (but as the box is the same the whole race that was ok).

Use autopit the last seconds is the easiest. You have to be careful though if you have other cars pitting nearby.

This was great fun. Triple the fun of doing an endurance on my own.
See you all at Texas World Speedway I hope :)
