Race: 12:20 PM EDT / 16:20 GMT *(6 Hour timed race- Each driver must drive the car a minimum of 90 minutes)*

Dunno if its important to post this also, but we will be driving the Corvette. As for starting numbers, will those be decided on entry, or where you finished in the qualifying race? or else?

 

Teams pick their own numbers, so please post your car number when you sign-up. First picked on a number gets it.

Some news - Just finished loading the test server with 218 and the rfmod which includes the SCES Pesca, the SCES Corvette, Mid-Ohio (no chicane), and the Merc Safety Car. Soon as the server test team finishes, we'll be releasing files and opening-up the server for practice.

 

Does anyone else have trouble regarding driver swaps after a couple of times?

Me and my teammate were practicing driver swaps on our server before, and a crash to desktop happened to both of us, approximately 5 seconds after the car was handed over.

The maximum number of successful swaps we managed to achieve was 6, although we also had a crash to Desktop after 3 Swaps.

We tried either to stay on the server after the swap or leave and close rF2 completely, then fire it back up again and join the server as a spectator again.

The sequence we used was:

driver A joins server and starts driving
driver B joins server as a spectator
driver B clicks race and uses "passenger select"
driver A gets the message "... is now riding with you"
driver A goes into the pit menu and selects driver B in the driver option
driver A pits and the car gets handed over to driver B
after the successful swap, driver A ( now the spectator ) pushes "passenger select"
driver B gets the message "... is no longer riding with you"
driver A hits ESC and leaves the server

Did anyone else have any CTD problems regarding driver swaps?

btw, we were both still using build 198 due to the non-functional auto updater

 

Yeah but everybody was swapping drivers just once.. i hope that more than 3-5 driver swaps don't always end in a CTD

 

I've had a ctd after handing off the car but it didn't affect the driver. Then I restarted the game and joined as spectator and had no prob taking the wheel again.

We do not have the SCES P1, can not choose to prove it.

 

Sounds good. We did another test regarding driver swaps yesterday, since i had the motec plugin installed and i thought it might be the cause of the trouble. Although, after 5 swaps, the driver who just took over the car had a CTD again, 5-6 seconds after leaving the pits.

So far, we still didnt manage to do more than 5 or 6 swaps before a CTD to the guy driving happened. We will have to swap approx. 6 times during the 6 hour race so, as it looks now, we wont be seeing the checkered flag.

I would appreciate if some of you guys would also test driver swaps and see how many swaps you manage, please try to get more than 6. If you do like 8-10 swaps, its definately a problem on our side.

So far, i have no idea if its a general problem or just our computers / rF Installs.

 

In SpeedinLive we tested with a higher number of driver changes with no problem.

The game fails if the driver who started the race returns to take control of the car later. To enable the program does not fail, after leaving control of the car, must leave the program and come back again. This second time as "spectator". From that point you can make as many changes of the pilot as you want without program fails.
