    Hi guys.
I was wondering if Ryzen 5800x3d runs as good in rfactor2 or automobilista 2, as it does in Assetto Corsa Competizione, where memory cache makes the difference, or if it's just a waste of money. I only found benchmarks in Assetto Corsa Competizione and Iracing.

I'm looking to upgrade my machine, from a 3600 and 1080 ti, to a RTX 3080 and a 5XXX Ryzen, just to play in VR with HP Reberb G2. My favorite sims are rFactor2 and Automobilista 2.

    Any experience?

I believe @vava74 has a 5800x3d and upgraded from a 5800x. Also I think he had a 30xx GPU and upgraded to a 4090. So he should be able to give you a good idea if it's worth it.

I'm also interested in this too. Currently running a 5800x and RYX3080.

As an aside, decent gains can be had in rf2 with good memory timing settings. Something I've been experimenting with over the last couple of weeks.

Yes, there was a visible jump in performance. I am in VR and some troublesome tracks - poorly optimised - went from major stuttering to being smooth, so I recommend the upgrade as the most cost effective jump in performance.

I also went from Ryzen 3700 to 5800x3d and it is performing superb..
I can add many AI and pass the pits stutterfree now.
Only at night at LeMans passing the pits with many AI there is some trouble but overall a great improvement.
Dirt Rally 2 also benefitted from this upgrade.
I am also racing in vr with G2 on a 3800ti.

Have you tried the RC? It gaved me a significant improvment in rain but also in sunset.

So glad I found this thread. There are hardly any benchmarks out there for 5800x3d with RF2. When you say many AI how many are you talking about? I have a 3080ti with a 5800x and to not drop below 90fps on most tracks I need to limit AI to 13 visible.

Before the upgrade i couldn’t race with more than 15 AI.
    Now i tried 46 Oreca’s and GTE’s.
During daytime and nighttime that went ok, but when it started to rain in the dark the frames started to drop.
I have 10 visible vehicles but haven’t changed that setting just now…
Yesterday i ran LeMans at 20.30 so sun is coming in real low and it was running good.
There is some new Ram coming this way to make top it off.
I only have 1 16 gig older memory and now ordered 2 16 gig faster memory so i hope that will improve things more..
I didn’t expect that it was such an improvement solely a new cpu.
But i didn’t wanna buy a whole new motherboard, cpu so took the gamble with the 5800x3d that would fit on my old amd architecture.
Now i can race for a whole year and then stick a new GPU when they become cheaper.
    Happy days

i did a test run with 21 visible vehicles and 46 AI.
Now when racing at nighttime it's still stable frames even when passing pits at Lemans.
When sun came up frames dropped into low 80's because lights are still on everywhere..
So racing during day and night it's good.
Even at racestart frames were still at 90.
I recommend this upgrade to anyone who's in doubt.
