Yes, something is wrong. I'll fix it as I'll be in front at the pc... Sorry.
first post has been updated with the right link to the template for "other classes": http://www.mediafire.com/file/qvj2vnd4p3sipyg/500_695template_PUBLIC.psd/file
Thanks a lot!
Abarth 500 Ares has graphic bug
when cars are about 50 meters away in front of you their parts disappear.
other cars are fine
try start a race at Last place and let them go you ll their parts goes under terrain
Thanks for reporting!
I found the first mistake that is obviously a mistyping for a LOD... then I'll look in deep.
Big thanks for doing this
Anyone knows if there are any real world series running those cars? If so, what tracks/format of the race? I like rF2 because it allows me to set up events closer to real life racing, and if anyone did some research, please share your knowledge.
Edit: also how are those shifted?
First post has been updated to build 3.97:
- added rain drops to mirrors
- replaced left side window net
- restructured mirrors for all classes
- fixed mistyping for med body LOD of Ares class
- tuned med-long distance LODs
I tried this car as i was looking for a good FWD car in terms of physics.
So, my thoughts about this mod: In general a very nice one, graphically very well designed. It stands equal to S397's paid dlc's imo, in terms of graphics.
One thing i dont like much is how much grip this car has. It is glued to the ground which is not very real. I think it should have way much more understeer when you turn and - at the time of understeer - ffb should less (with tyre sound at the same time). Understeer occurs when the front tyres start slipping, and that should happen earlier in this car. Other than that very nice one!
Thanks for the report, but to which class do you refer? Because there are several classes and very different performances and behaviors, from a basic abarth to the pogea monster...
I m talking about both 4 classes: 500 AC, 695 AC, 695 EVO and Ares 500. They all have the same physics (very glued to the ground). I don't know if it is the rf2 physics engine (which i guess it is most RWD orientated) or it is smth that can be changed. They all should behave with a lot more understeer and less grip than now imo.
When understeer happens, ffb should become less too..
It is difficult to bring those car to the limit as they hold way too much. This limit should come earlier with understeer effect. Brakes are also very strong in this car
In 2 words you should try these changes:
1) Less grip with more understeer + correction in ffb when understeer comes
2) Brakes should be worse (greater braking distances)
I think - this car - with small physics tweeks has the potential of becoming a very good "base" for next FWD cars in rf2..
About physics, if you read the whole thread, I used the original data written by the developers of the rFactor1 mod...improving it to the new code of rFactor2 and changing tyres with the new ones, but tuning grip at the level of the old ones as well.
I haven't real data to use and I respected the work made by original modder.
About the ares, something is different and based only on very few data shown by the manufacturer. In other words the ares class is more a fantasy car than a real one.
If you look at mods with real physics, limited only by the code of rFactor2, you can try the Palatov D4, the Metalmoro MR1, the GP3 and the SMMG Formula 3!
I ve tried many mods but i was looking specifically for a good FWD car. The only good ones until now is the abarth and the lada cup. Only problem is that both have huge grip (almost like f1 cars) which is somehow unreal. Of course i respect your work - which is brilliant - and it was just my though.
Are y still working on this project or is it finished for you?
Finished years ago Haris1977. As I said, no real data, nor a driver that raced into the Italian Championship time ago that can be of help, so no way to tune it in a way or the other and the mod stays with the original behaviour.
So what did you find so good about abarth and lada and in what aspect despite their huge f1 grip are these two better than other fwd cars if I may ask?
Oh i see. I have raced with this car in the GC (Greek Championship) so i know some things about it's behaviour, that's why i download it.
But anyway, thanks for your effort!
I ve tested many FW cars (mods). It is smth in the feeling of those 2 cars (lada/abarth) that cant be explained. If we - somehow - remove that grip, they feel very drivable. Has anyone to suggest other good fw cars as well?
If you have raced one of these classes, well you could be the right people to help in tuning the mod. If you are interested please pm me and we can see if I'm able to improve the behavior.
It could be good for all users.
@Slow Motion thanks for your collaboration on the project. I think we have done great steps in terms of fine tuning. I am here for anything you may need.
First post has been updated with all info about new build 4.0
Some screenshot here, just to revamp this evergreen mod
Long long time ago, a lot of years ago with rFactor1 and then rFactor2 we were usual to organize a special event with a lot of guys for the Italian festivity of the "Befana", the Epiphany, just the night of January 5th... unfortunately few of us passed in the years... The events were really special for us, sometime we raced tracks, sometime the karts, the BMW WTCC, the ETCC and of course the Fiat Abarth 500!
Enjoy the mod!
