it was still good in January. Perhaps since the last update has been bad. But dont know. I have no idea Same server, same config. In 2017 we had running with 25 drivers. Without problems.
No problems of people dropping out at the same time of our "run from home" league server. We only have about 12 drivers at races with the server in Aus, a few New Zealanders joining in, plus our Canadian regular who lives in Japan. We have some very intense bumper to bumper racing.
Still having the Lost Connection sometimes during race and nearly everytime a new race loads the cars. This only since the last update, never had this since 2013. https://forum.studio-397.com/index.php?threads/massive-disconnection.59476/#post-938180
We play on this private server since 2015. This is the second server started beginning 2015 , the first one we ran rF1 from 2010 (or earlier, cannot remember) until moving to rF2 in 2012 I think. The Connection Lost problems started with the last rF2 update 3 months ago, never experienced this before in rF2. The hardware is in order because I use it daily to service computers internationally.
Which of the following words do you need help with ? "Having connection problems running a private server " The solution will not be "then refrain from doing so". And yes, trying three other servers there were two drops when reloading track and one stable. Which is about the same we have here.
"I've been DM'ing the OP's to tell them to ignore your advice, as you don't know how to setup port forwarding properly." Mangoletsi, if you have an issue or better information with my posts or from others, why is it so difficult to answer directly ? This is the meaning of the concept of "support" in a support forum.
Mangoletsi, after many years in this biz I know there are no allround experts, this is why I still do my work daily with pleasure. One never stops learning. Ok, what ports do you suggest for the dedi server ?
Come on guys. I have setup my server to 12 dedicated servers and one port is no better then other as long it is in port range. HTTP Server Port range is 1025 - 65535. Used for file sharing Simulation Port range is 1025 - 65535 Make it easy to your self and use default ports if you are hosting only one dedicated server. HTTP Server Port :64297 Simulation Port :54297 UDP+TCP 54297 TCP 64297 UDP 64298 UDP 64299
Thanks Ari, Exactly what my modem port forwarding says. @Ari Antero But I have a question for you (running 12 servers ! ) My upload/download speed is set to 13000/13000 kbps and Frame Rate is 400 fps. I cannot check Data Rate until tomorrow nights racing. The dedi is on a 200down/18up connection (my fellow racer is on 80down/12up). With 18 AI. Can you advise a better upload/download speed setting for me to try ?
