GJED is good news for track building.... why? Because it might fit perfectly with Race Track Builder which has recently passed Steam Greenlight. Would be able to export to FBX and import into GJED for tweaking. I knew it would take a little while for modding to get some momentum in rfactor 2.... the future is looking very good!!!
Guys, all of you; thank you for al this wonderful information! I looked it through, had 3dsmax at hand, tried some things........ I'm not going to lie; this is all to complicated for me. This is not something I will manage, ever. I wantend to see how far I could go, but this is a bridge to far. It started out with me trying to fix the location of some cones. Then I thought I might be able to convert rF1 tracks as there are some I really like and are not for rF2 (yet?). I did convert some cars and -although not perfect- that worked out. But it was pretty simple; running the gmt's through the demo of 3dsimed and exported them as rF2 gmt's. Made a new engine and tires; done. So; replacing some cones, converting a few tracks and who knows what more I could do in the future........well, as it turns out; not much. I am very grateful for all your information, thank you very much!
Yes, I let it go........going insane just looking at all the buttons But for now, lets leave it to adjusting the placing of cones lets say; I can't do that with those 2 either, can I?

Hmm, than I misunderstood (a couple of?) things....... I thought the placing of things was done by either 3dsmax of 3dsimed. Sketchup and Blender for that.......I did not get that.
3D Max, Blender & Sketchup are proper modelers... Sufficient to build models from scratch. While you could theoretically build a model from scratch in 3DSimEd... I wouldn't.
Thanks Kristoff, busy now to get the plugin thing downloaded for Blender and tomorrow.......cone moving time! (I hope)
Swing by the Modder's hangout when you get started and if someone is around we'll help you get going.
Besides the fact I don't have a headset or something else I could do this with, can you imagine there is some sort of "block" in the mind before undertaking such an action if you're not used to communicating like this? So, I won't be in the hangout for a while, but thanks for the offer.
