    Hi folks,

    I just reinstalled my computer and 3dsmax (2010 32bit) as well. I've set up everything like I was used to (plugins to plugins folder and coreshaders.mas to the hardwareshaders folder).

    When I load a max file that I've been working on and that has a gmaterial applied I get a selection window to select the shaders folder. When I choose the hardwareshaders folder an press ok it tells me no shaders are loaded.

    When going to material editor it says "shader "L2DIFFUSET0" not found" before showing the gmaterial properties.

    What have I done wrong?

    Thank you for any hint!

    Hi,

    you don't have to use the Hardwareshaders folder anymore nor copy the coreshader in that folder. Just point the 3ds max prompt to your rFactor 2 Shared folder. It should be here;

    C:\Program Files (x86)\rFactor2\Core\Shared

    Thank you for that hint. But does that mean it wont work anymore or is there just no need to copy it? And if it wont work like this, how can I change the location afterwards? 3Dsmax doesn't ask me anymore. It just tells me that no shaders are loaded...

    Edit: Ok I found the solution. It need more than just the coreshaders.mas. I copied all the files from the shared folder to the hardwareshaders folder and now it works!

    Thank you!
    (But still is there a way to change that path?)

    Both. :)

    There is no need to copy the coreshader as it's not working that way anymore.

    To reset your shader location just open a gMat and click on the Reset Shader MAS File Location button;

    Just open the material editor, pick an empty material, swap standard type to gMotorMaterial. In the gMotorMaterial v2.52n tab, at the bottom there is a button, "Reset Shader MAS File Location". Click it and you will be prompted to restart. Restart and you are good to go.

    I think in the plugin rollout in 3ds you can click to select the shader folder. Did you check the guide above?
