Just thought I would post this. I used the updater in the launcher to update from 156 to 198. Immediately after the update tried to open the launcher again and recieved the error "\\rFactor2\Launch rFactor.exe is not a valid Win32 application." I have updated this way before with no problems. I assume my only option now is a fresh install.
Correct.. Especially when ISI wrote to do a clean install as the upgrade feature was touch and go. From this build on, they said it will be working again properly though.
It`s funny that it seems to have worked ok for some and not for others... This was the first build I used the update feature and it worked perfectly for me and downloaded/installed etc very quickly. When tested, everything seemed to working fine. I`ve since uninstalled and installed a fresh, full build of b198 but the update feature worked fine as I say...
Yeah I know tjc, I was actually searching the forum where I read it so I can post it up again about the clean install.. Personally I preferred the full clean and install.. This build (198) looks a lot better in the structure sense, and the server is running things properly again, so updates from this build on should be much much better I feel.
I'm a bit confused,I have rfactor 2 if the updater doesn't work I will have to download lite or simple version of b198 and a fresh install will "hurt" my mods?
