    One month without updates.

I have finally been able to create UV mappings, anyway I don't like this mapping, so I will rebuild it.

The texture is just a test.

I am still searching for people to help me, I don't have much time, and even les knowledge, therefore every modification takes ages.

    Next steps will be:
    - Addition of the still not in game 3d meshes (fuel caps, ventilator, tail lights...)
    - Proper ultra chassis file generation, with the correct suspension geometries
    - Cockpit polishing

Not too shabby for a "test". I'm confident you are on the right track. This can be a great addition.

If you can reduce the reflectiveness of the alpha layer and sort out the material on the windshield it will look a whole lot better already. Keep going :).

Emery, Mike Parris made some wonderful recordings inside a 917K at Riverside International Raceway in 1980. Scroll down this link to play them and read about the event:

That sound is Amazing, Woohoo!... :)

Thanks mkilner I have added it to my feeds.

I have a small update on the mod status:

    - New chassis physics (including flex chassis) created from scratch using the new ISI-provided excel sheet.
    - Added some of the not-yet-in-game models (engine ventilator, roof lining...).
    - Polished sounds (but need a lot of work).
    - New cockpit dials (I have included revs, water temp, oilt temp, oil pressure and battery)

I'm sharing what I got until now.

Physics-wise I'm quite satisfied, but 3D is not my best as you may see.

Car does not have lods, therefore it's very FPS heavy.

Anyone who wants to continue working on it, please feel free to do so.

I don't even need to be credited for it as long as it's for rFactor2

Awesome to see a release, I'll try it later tonight. I'll also try to get my 917k owner buddy over asap to get some feedback on the physics. Can I ask what you used as a source for the audio?

    Thanks for your efforts!

Now the bad news. Cockpit view is unuseable for me, like a visor blocking half the view, so I can only see the road about 50' in front of the car:

Yes, seat is pulled all the way back in that pic. However, even with it close to the windshield, the effect is still there.

I didn't have problems with cockpit view after adjusting the seat (down and forward). Windshield could be more clear.
Physics felt good. Thank you very much LeStrat :)

Yeah I agree, the physics felt very good indeed.
Also the sounds seemed very cool to me.

    Great work so far!

Sorry for taking so long to answer.

First of all, thanks everyone for your support.

I have used the same sounds that have been used for the Matra, but with some modifications. Regarding this, I have noticed that while I was 'developing' the first versions of the car, transmission just sounded plainly, but after using 917 with rFactor2 982, I have realised that tranny now has 'vibration' when releasing throttle or pushing it hard. Does anyone know if transmission physical model has changed but it was not included in release notes for 982?

I also need to adjust seat position, so I will have to change the default camera parameters, anyway, it seems that Porsche 917 did not have a great visibility.

@fohdeesha: Could you please, if posible, ask your buddy the spring, shock and anti roll bar parameters for the 917? I am trying to update it with realistic values, but so far I have found only partial data.

Just a reminder: I can keep working on physics, but I need someone to help me out with 3D model, LODs and texturing.
