In all seriousness its still being worked on but only when time allows and not as often as either I or @klaasvh would like. Its been a long time since we've shared anything though and in that time quite a lot has been done so perhaps a few more screens are in order:
@CrossPly It`s so good to hear the cars are still being done. Yeh, time is something that`s not that easy to find. Many thanks for the reply and screens. The cars are looking absolutely fantastic.
Yep, there's a setting you can set in the player.json, "Self in Rearviewā€¯ (or something like that). It comes with a performance hit and how well it works does vary by mod (and to some extent the type of car).
It will be awesome in VR to glance over a shoulder and not have half the car missing. Real immersion killer in many mods.
ahh yes. The self in rearview setting makes no difference to VR, only to the view in the mirrors. Its possible to add additional body parts (wings, engine parts etc...) to the "over the shoulder view" but I'm not aware of any way to make the rear tyres visible. I agree that would be a nice feature.
Having NEVER even sat in the seat of a race car, I have to ask the question. Can a driver in a real race car, strapped in with his helmet on, see ANYTHING of the car that is behind him?(besides what may show in mirrors)
FIA didn't require 6-point harnesses until 1972, so it would have been possible for a 1967 driver to twist around in the seat and look behind. Certainly was no problem to "glance over the shoulder" while wearing only a lap belt, though unless you have a very flexible neck you're only seeing to the side of the car rather than behind you.
