Spent a good couple hours with this car today, very nice! Thank you @Bozak for sharing and thanks to BorekS. Fantastic.
Can you please share those files with me? It would be a good learning experience for me. To see how it's done.
just found this lovely vintage car. great challenge on the streets of montecarlo -not easy to find here. why it isn't in released vehicles sections?-
about the mod maybe in next future could been some little improvements a friend is trying to update car materials (basics tyres, chrome, ect...). we'll see..... then if Bozak agrees, we could post or move this thread in vehicles section (and maybe he could upload the mod on workshop too.....) bye!
the work on new materials is still alive apart that, i have compared the technical blueprint found on the web with rf2 car (pics from AI, but i think player tyres are the same) and seems front tyres is still too big @Bozak is it possible to reduce the size a little again?
Looking good! I was intrigued about the tire comment, as the picture does look off. Not knowing anything I did a little bit of research. It appeared the car ran Dunlops. (see pic below) I found this forum post talking about 1960s era Dunlop tires. https://forums.autosport.com/topic/100306-dunlop-r5-racing-tyres-from-late-50s-early-60s/ Post had a link to this Dunlop history article. Link is currently dead, but it was archived https://web.archive.org/web/20080709041455/https://www.stuckey.com.au/evolution.aspx If I have the info right, the car would have ran with Dunlop R6 (aka CR48) tires. Doing a search for those tires, I found this store. https://www.borrani.com/dunlop-tyres/racing.html https://www.borrani.com/dunlop-tyres/racing/cr48.html It's my assumption that the car had 16 in wheels. If that is the case, the dimension of the tires are there. Just need to adjust/scale the 3d models to match those measurements. Then use redapg's tmg resize tool and put in the new measurements into the .tbc. It shouldn't be too hard to do.
At the end you might just have to use second value of size multiplier in TGM too for radius. Seems like it is a must..
I think tyres size is much better now, but we notice one strange thing…. in 2 external car cams seems that one rear tyre is very big rear right with this cam and rear left with this one with all other visuals tyres are fine..... what do you think? it could be an optical effect? Is there a solution? (…….Cut off those 2 car cams? )
Try adjust size multiplier in TGM. From my memory this kind tyre visual size issue that shifting with view/steering angle can happen if TBC or TGM nodes was resized but did not adjust size multiplier accordingly. The problem may not happen to every TGM file, but there are some TGM files require to adjust size multiplier in order to get correct visual size. It won't harm to give it a try. If you still know the original radius(or diameter) of the unsized TGM file, open it and find a line called SizeMultiplier, then calculated a new size multiplier value for the second value. For example, if the original TGM radius is 0.26 meter, and SizeMultiplier=(1.0, 0.99), and your new tyre radius is 0.31, then 0.31 / 0.26 = 1.19230 * 0.99 = 1.180377, so it will be SizeMultiplier=(1.0, 1.180377). Chris's online tools also has a tool (the second one) to calculate and adjust SizeMultiplier for you. (you might also want to calculate and adjust first value for width)
It could be an optical effect. But what are the wheel LODs look like? What is the LOD distance for the wheels in the .gen? I'm wondering if the LOD_B of the wheel is set to 10m, and it is a larger diameter. The LOD swaps in at that distance. I'm not at my rF2 PC. Also maybe look at the tire LOD material. I think it is IBLTIRE. That newer tire material will size the tire automatically based on the .tgm size. If the LOD tire material is the old one, it will use the 3d model size. What svictor has also said is something else to take a look at.
If it only happens with 2 Cameras, i would say it's no Problem with the Car, as long as it looks normal with all other Cams. Did you check/compare the Values of these 2 Cams with other Cams, that show the Sizes properly? Just as a Side Info: there is also a Distortion in the Showroom, where the Car looks "bended" in specific Distances. So the Cameras seem to have Limits too. Besides of all other rF2 Limitations.
