Tatuus F.3 T318 drivability and quality

I have raced this version of Tatuus in a competitive league for a while now and after gathering the exact same impressions from other drivers, I conclude that this car is the worst of the Tatuus pack. All of the cars seem to share very similar underlying physics, but this model stands out...

    Encrypted physics

Hi all, I notice that more and more cars are encrypted, which I believe, is not the good way to go with the simulator. In order to understand the car, and make proper setup adjustments, we need to be able to perform some engineering. Especially for those people that are time-limited, it's the...

POLL // How important are physics a priority for you for rF2 (your wish for the rF2 future) ?

The improvement of the physics as a whole does not seem to be in the priorities of S397 since the last 3 years (IMO). I would like that to change, do not you ? The purpose of this poll is to gather your wishes on this subject.

[REL] Aston Martin Red Bull Racing (Red Bull Honda RB15 - 2019) v1.1

Hello party people, Do you want to drive the formula one car with the most downforce available? A car that has over 600 Nm of torque and around 960 bhp? A car that can take Suzuka's Esses nearly flat? Enjoy 6G on your neck? Enjoy hours of tweaking the setup to be only half a tenth quicker...

    Vehicle mass

I been playing good amount of RF2 but i noticed some things that vehicles here generally feels like they have very little mass. This behaviour is extremely noticeable when riding kerbs. I read somewhere that RF2 has fixed polar moment of inertia could this be the reason?

    New tyre behavior when braking

Hi, I was wondering if something is different with the newer cars (eg. GT3 and Tatuus) because the tyres feel less 'skittish' particularly under braking. A good comparison is the USF2000 vs the new Tatuus USF-17. With the newer cars it seems to need more pedal pressure (even with the braking...

    Tyres modelling

Hi, I'm currently working on a Formula 2 mod and I have already done about 80% of work. My mod is using old FISI 2012 tyres (because of matching size) but I am not fully satisfied with those models. They are not updated, old and I suspect not so accurated. Replacing them with new models from dev...

Future of rF2 : the realism of this simulation

I would very much like that : After the big projects planned for the next 6 months (UI, Nords ....), I want that S397 prioritizes really these actions on what I call the "Global Realism" which includes the physics and other things, so that soon rF2 will reached a new stage in term of "hardcore...

    Reference Plane / Origin

Hi all,I am a newbie to rF2 with very little experience in rF1. I am trying to build the physics for my first car and I am using your rFactor Physics Calculator v0.35. However I have a very basic question. I would like to know where is the Reference plane or the origin point for a rF2 vehicle...

    Suspension trouble

Hi everybody, thanks for all the advices and supports you gave me snce i start to mod on rFactor2. i'm trying to go deeper in the hdv, pm and all the ini files to really understand all the physics parameters and have the possibility to reate my own mod starting from scratch. my problem at the...

    SOLVED Physics editting fail

Hi, please don't kill me if this thread was here many times. I'm trying to make a little modifications in mod physics. I extracted files by gMotor2 and after changes made new mas file. Unfortunately after that my mod disappeared from mod list in game. What am i doing wrong?! Regards, NEWBIE Ziubson

    Loop to loops possible?

I know it's far from the most realistic thing out there but could the physics model cope with loop to loops and being upside down? I've played Forza with the Hot Wheels expansion but I feel that the physics are more 'arcadey' than realistic. Plus Forza doesn't allow modding which reduces the...

    Announcing "The Garage"

The Garage The garage is a community project intended to bring anyone interested in physics modding together, to learn and to exchange knowledge and experiences. While many people seem interested in physics modding, it is quite a challenge. The goal of this project is get several people...

Aerodynamics - What Real World Data Do I Need?

Hey all, working on a little project that MAY or MAY NOT bring Late Models and Super Late Models to rFactor 2. I have contact with a couple of companies that make bodies who MAY or MAY NOT be willing to share aero data. The problem is, when they inevitably ask me, "Well, what sort of data are...

    Built-in Suspension Setup Analyser

One of the cleverest features in NetKar Pro has got to be the suspension analyser that's built into the setup screens, which gives one readouts on ride frequency and critical damping values. I was wondering how difficult it would be to implement a similar system for rF2. If it proves feasible...
