I've had a few crashes lately, I'm not sure if it's a part of the current builds lag problem or if it's something else. Anyway here's a windows crash report for show and tell... If you go to your windows event viewer and see if there's anything else in the log for a similar time. I've had similar problem from time to time and it seems to be related to nvidia in my case.
Yeah I looked there first, event viewer, but there isn't any log near the same time. I've enabled a trace+ in RF2 to see if it catches the event at the same time. I also rolled back from the current nvidia drivers to 3 or 4 back, still no help, even updated windows to latest rel. Never had this problem with RF2 build 1112 SS
When does it crash? In menu? On track? If on track do you have any plug ins? If so which ones? Are any of them blacklisted in the other thread by Marcel? If on track what content is it with? Official or 3rd party? Have you Verified RF2 files?
@ Bernd, I did a new OS install about 2 months ago, so all the files should be freshish. @ MarkG it has crashed on track in single player once, & on track in races online 3 times. The only plugin I run is SimHub, and have had a crash without it running at all. I didn't launch it because of a previous crash. So the content was ISI Comaro @ Road America, 2 crashes in 2 races on the same night, that was Tuesday this week! I can not remember the other one off the top of my head, but I do know the single player one was the 3:08 one from the above log. Ah, it comes back to me now I read this back, it was Wednesday night, after Qualify, in the warm up before the race it crashed, the content then was the updated RSM V8s at Pukekohe. And yes files are verified. SS
Guys nvidia drivers the last 2 version have caused wide known crashes lockups etc. Across all games I've rolled mine back and it's fine again.
Recent ones have all worked fine for me in all games, in fact I very rarely get issues with nVidia drivers and certainly haven't for a long time now.
I've just checked the nvidia site there's a new driver. Version: 436.30 - Release Date: Tue Sep 10, 2019 So I'll try that an see if the issue is fixed. I'll also rename the userdata folder as Bernd suggested SS
btw im using 436.02 that has stopped my games locking up my pc. I haven't tried the new one above as I heard it was still causing problems. Obviously this is not going to affect everyone with the thousand different configs a pc can have.
I have auto update on the OS, that had a update yesterday. Quite a large one going on the time it took. nVidia also updated yesterday to v 436-30 for a GTX 1070, Guessing version may change depending on the card. I haven't had rF2 crash for ages apart from self inflicted one. (caused be me )
So new nvidia driver & new userdata files, have not fix the crash to desktop. Next is to go back to 436.02 as LokiD suggested. SS
I got a crash with that in resident evil 2.reverted back to late july one now ha. I've heard it's a Conflict between Windows and nvidia updates.
