Hello everybody. I promised to ask for the UI. Immediately Mr. Offermanns opened his laptop and I am allowed to record! Please do not expect too much. It is just an old Handy. Thx to Mr Offermanns and Mr Elliott. The spearhead:
Porsche GTE = 4hp No wonder they feel slow now UI looks nice and clean with more info about the cars and tracks. Edit: Thank you for sharing your video
Still about 3 weeks to the NoS and Nürburgring GP. NO Südschleife (for first). The UI takes a little longer. That does not matter. When that's done the rest will be a breeze for Team S397! I am convinced of that!
My personal highlight is that I was allowed to sit in a Lamborghini Tropheo. Hot!!! Deep and tight !! But cool! My boys were allowed in almost every Blaincpain GT3 racer. I unfortunately do not.
Very pretty, but at times looks more like a studio, not an useful menu. Also 95% seems just a "reskin" without any additional options and selections. For example there could be many more options for FFB (think Raceroom) and also graphical options - so you dont need to dive into .json files so often) I personally do not appreciate "Modern" designs such as this with very low information density. Hopefully the UI will be customizable both in menus and ingame, that is the only way to satisfy existing users and also the target audience they want to gain from racing games.
As Mr. Offermanns said, everything starts with the UI at 0. And there we will be asked as a community also for suggestions for improvement. When the UI is done, everything else will go very fast. Stone by stone. For me, this is Rfactor2.5 and everything starts at 0. There is something really big for us. Please do not call me fanboy. I do not sleep on any Rfactor2 pillows. (Although there are those somewhere?)
Thanks for sharing, nice to see it in it's flesh. I just wish we would get the fixes to the ai now... All of this new content, yet, I can't enjoy myself due to the overtake logic.
I have also referred to Mr Offermans. That was a personal concern to me. I also want a better AI. It is in working progress but currently the UI has priority 1. Since we will have to wait patiently unfortunately .
There are more options. As for being a "reskin", well, ya, it kind of is. Why re-invent the wheel. Everything that is in the old ui is still in the new one, but now more things can be added easily(or easier, seeing as it was not really possible before).
Unfortunately, no. But it can not take much longer. First the NoS and the Porsche Cup. Awesome, right?
good information, very useful and encouraging, the video illuminates our imagination, thank you very much
rF2 doesn't need more sliders, it's simply the best FFB out there. Don't understand the fetish people have for "sliders" when all they'll do is confuse people and ruin what works well...
Ti be honest I like it, very clean, easy to read, open to additions (as example on tires setup page I would add a description about how tire works). I would add for each setup page (suspensions, tires, etc etc) a series of tips very similar to most of the schemes you find online (like "if your car drives XXX then you need to change XXX", you know what I am referring too) or even better an interactive system that helps you setting the car moving from a slide to another... Hope to see it soon, is quite fresh and really needed, at the same time I am more excited to see a new HUD or what users will bring thanks to PHP...
Good to see that the different cars can be switched in the same screen again, as it has been in rfactor 1. And no icon files are needed anymore, as it seems. Thumbs up!
