new Update on Steam...... + fixed Suspension in the Cockpit View + fixed collision behavier in the Gravel + 2 new added Teams (Doug Shierson Racing and Canadian Tire Racing)
Any tips on how to keep from blowing up the engine? I'm trying to be super careful on the downshifts. Is a 1:05 too fast at Riverside? Great mod Chief and Co!
That's it....Thanks! Do you fully slow down before you downshift? I'm using an h-shift and heel/toe. Are the road course lap times reasonably realistic?
The ovals I believe are pretty much unchanged from their rF2 counterparts. Phoenix I think had changes over the years. I'm going off of Machine's tracks. So Michigan, There was a pretty good early version of the milwaukee mile a few years ago. As for road courses, Road America I think is the only unchanged one. IMO, sheit's version is the closest layout wise. For Portland, the Vanport conversion with out the festival chicane. The actual Portland track is the new configuration. Everything else I think changed. Laguna Seca 1985, was before the infield section was built. Mid Ohio is a chicane version I think... I'm not an expert and haven't gone through the videos to confirm.
For tracks that are unchanged: Virtua LM's Mid Ohio with Chicane is perfect for the 1985 season. Michigan Milwaukee Indy Phoenix Pocono Road America Tracks you can get but are changed from the 1985 counterparts: Portland: Is the same except the release from about 2 years ago has a tighter turn before the back straight. Long beach: Completely different first sector. Burke Lakefront: Mesh is a little bumpy. It's the 1990-2007 version with a longer front straight. Laguna Seca: An infield was added in 1988. In 1985 turn 1 connected to turn 5. Tracks that do not exist in rF2: Meadowlands: Does anyone really care? It was a tight, barrier-lined, circuit laid out in a parking lot. Tamiami Park: Really too bad because it looks like a fun circuit. There's a conversion of the 2003 Bayfront park in rF2, but it's a very slow, twisty circuit. Someone converted a version of the Bicentennial/Bayfront frankenstein that was in Need for Speed to Assetto Corsa. If anyone is able to convert this over to rFactor 2 I have the track files.
does anyone have a good Photo from the Eagle? especially from the Sidepod, it looks like there is a edge, or a Radiator, I cant see it correct
You can change Phoenix to the, changed since 1985 list https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISM_Raceway Racing at Phoenix International Raceway began to dramatically change in 2003. Turn 2 was reconstructed by pushing back the outside wall to make racing safer. The wall originally came to an end where the old road course crossed the oval track. At the same time, an access tunnel was built under turn 4. I'm pretty sure the rF2 version is a 2017-2018 version.
A lot of the 1985 tracks are similar to the ones that were used in 1988. Our HSO 1988 Indycar mod uses accurate tracks for its full season. The tracks are in AMS format but if you want to convert them to rF2 I don't foresee a problem but please ask if its ok in the HSO forum.
