Glad you like it. One answer to your problem is to map a button to Headlights on. The shared memory doesn’t have an entry for "headlights required" that I could use to turn them on automatically, the only thing I think I could do is check if other drivers have their headlights on. Or add a choice to have the headlights always on (whether it’s dark or not), the driver would have to choose to switch them off.
Care to share where that is set up? So far been using only basic CC and just started looking at further options.->[found where it is].
hey Sven, first a great idea with the tool. Unfortunately I get the following message when starting the headlights.exe. "pygame 1.9.6 Hello from the pygame community. https://www.pygame.org/contribute.html rFactor 2 Shared Memory not present. " what could be the mistake here? thank you for your help Micha
@Vanisch You need https://forum.studio-397.com/index.php?threads/rf2-shared-memory-tools-for-developers.54282/ installed too. Sven would agree
I had the same problem but fixed it by starting rfactor first then headlight exe. Great addition to the sim
I've fixed that and added options to turn on the headlights automatically when Driver turns them on (i.e. not automatic) At least one other driver has them on More than one other driver has them on At least half of the other drivers have them on All the other drivers have them on as well as the option to have the headlights on when you get in the car (driver can turn them off). Right, can anyone think of any more headlight-related functions? It needs some tidying before I can release it
I've had some ideas (with a nod to people who might say "This is a sim, I don't want automatic headlights!") A "smart" single button that turns the lights on if they're off but flashes them if they're already on. Maybe a long press to turn them off? Voice commands "Headlights on" "Headlights off" (for VR users particularly who don't have buttons to spare). I don't think there's much point in "Headlights flash", you need a button for that. Voice feedback "Everyone else has their lights on" (Yes, there is a "Headlights are now required" message on screen - but only if you have the message box turned on. Ask me how I know.) and confirmations like "Headlights on" A hazard lights function? If you're going slowly, limping back to the pits for example.
