So I wanted to make a new racing line for an existing mod. I created the fastest path and everything went well. The current pit path wasn't going to align well with the new fast path I created so I decided to make a new pit path and that also went well. Proceeded to do the "join as branch" step which also seemed to go well and now my fastest path and pit path were linked together, however when it came to the last step of normalizing the curve between both paths i got stuck. I selected the waypoints of the pit path, pressed SHIFT+arrows to try move it closer to the fast path before normalizing but the line of the pits refused to move. Any ideas? Thanks
Previously for me the creation of AIW was an impossible task! Now it seems to me very easy occupation. You can easily create an AIW in 30-40 minutes (If this is not a very long track). This is slightly different from AIW rF1. Use this tutorial https://www.studio-397.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/rF2_AIW_Creation_Tutorial.pdf
Thanks, I always use that Tutorial. I'm not an expert at all but I've modified AIW in a few tracks in the past successfully. This is the section where I'm getting stuck (pg 5). When trying to move the pit line using SHIFT+arrows, the line doesn't move. I haven't had that happen before, dunno, maybe I didn't attach both paths properly in the previous step
I understand you! Open AIW Editor Go to Show Hide menu and click "show wp connections" Go to Path sub menu and click "Visibles Fastest" Choose some pit points and use SHIFT + Arrow Keys (right or left) and move path Then "unselect all" and choose 3-4 points !!!ON PIT-PATH!!! and click “normalize curve" Then save AIW. It is important to remember that path points will not move! Only path line will move!
Ok, thanks. Yeah, I understand the waypoints don't move, just the line but my problem is that not even the line is moving. I'll try following the steps exactly as you pointed them out later when I get home. Cheers
For me everything works as it should. In the path sub menu, have you selected the path that you want to edit as Visible/Actionable Path? Then marked some waypoints and used Ctrl+left Arrow or Ctrl+right Arrow to move the Path in the section where the waypoints are marked? If yes, it would be good if you could record a video that shows what you are doing.
Is it the same if you do it at the joesville track? And if you are not in the path sub menu, can you move the car with Ctrl+Shift+ Arrow Keys?
Then the problem is obviously something with your track. Would you mind to upload it and send me the link with a personal conversation? When i have the track, it is much easier to find out what the problem is, than with guesses in the forum.
Click on Find Corridors, save waypoints, exit and reload the track. That fixed it for me whenever I had this issue.
indeed, have to find corridors after creating a pit path. That is why you save all your track corridors until the end when your happy
