    This must be a dumb question because I can't find anything from searching the forum.

    For the life of me I can't find the setting to make the halo transparent in the Formula E or the Tatuus.

    Please help. Thanks.

    Also don't expect the halo to be that transparent, 10% transparency means it is 90% visible.
    Just drive & you will soon adjust & not really notice it.

    This is such a stupid issue. How hard is it to understand that 98% of the users DO NOT HAVE stereoscopic view (except for the 2% VR users) thus the halo is extremely blocking the view. So it should be possible for any halo equipped car to make it invisible (or close to invisible). The reason of license issues is a joke as well. Then developers should make it clear to the licensee that there is an issue because of the not existing stereoscopic view and if you are not allowing to remove it a large part of users simply won't use these cars then!!!

    Have you actually tried driving with the available transparency option for a while? It's completely useable.

    The halo doesn't disappear in real life or with VR, but you can see "through" it. That's what the transparency allows. The car has a halo.

    To be honest you can't see "trough" it but "around" it, your eyes focus at 100meters or so in reality not at the distance to your monitor (40/50 cm).

    I think it's 90% opacity that's the issue. I mean, I can see what they're trying to do but in Vr it just doesn't bother me at all, but damn in 2d with 90% opacity? It's not even comparable - it's a huge distraction and disadvantage in 2d. Make the opacity option` 20-30% (70-80% transparency) - just signal to the driver that this car has it and show the outline shape.

    edges should be soften (needs some blur), it would help lessen the distracting static band.

    Interesting I drive on monitor, and leave the Halo 100% visible and once I got used to it quite quickly, I've got absolutely zero issues racing with it on.

    When you get to the curve it doesn't bother, neither on the straights, so if reality uses it, people because they protest ...

    Using vr, in a couple of laps you don't notice the halo.
    Using screen is different. I think that it depends on the person, the screen/s, FOV, etc.

    @tuki good job packaging the halo and telemetry changes, but please don't go finding old threads asking about the halo and put your link in them. People aren't stuck in this thread awaiting an answer - they can see/find your new thread just fine.

    If you run the mas editor and look at the two ini files included there, you'll see the following:
    UpgradeType="Transparent Halo"
    {
    Instance="Halo"
    UpgradeLevel="0% Transparency"
    {
    GEN=<Halo>=fe_halo_upgrade_off.gmt
    }
    UpgradeLevel="10%"
    {
    GEN=<Halo>=fe_halo_upgrade_10.gmt
    }
    }

    If you could figure out how to add new .gmt files, you could probably get a halo with much greater transparency.
