    Howdy!

Been driving in rain at recently released Le Mans. Road surface looks spectacular with puddles and everything - awesome work! Unfortunately visual rain effect is killing the immersion. For some reason there are two kind of raindrops visible (see attached image). Thin drops act like they should be; as vehicle speed increases raindrops start flying at you. However thick ones look like they are poured down from alien mothership flying in front of the car. It makes you think car is traveling much slower than it really is. It also feels like they're about to abduct me and my car in any second now. This is very stressful to me. Please help!

Sorry I don't know about the problem because I only race on shinny sun for fps performance, but Scully aged like good wine :p

Have to agree with good wine thing! :D And it's also very true rain effects at current state cause quite a drop in framerate. Perhaps some optimization/simplification could help there...

Found this information from Internet regarding speed of a falling raindrop:

    https://hypertextbook.com/facts/2007/EvanKaplan.shtml

Even largest (=fastest) raindrops fall down only at around 10 meters per second (36 km/h). When vehicle is traveling 300 km/h it means raindrop hits the car at angle of around 7 degrees (formula: tan(a) = 36/300) meaning it's "originated" from slighly above horizon.

Check attached image. Took the screen capture while game is running on accelerated physics (Ctrl+X). Miraculously raindrops seem to approach at somewhat correct angle. Could it be rF2 has programming error where thicker raindrop angle calculation is based on how fast physics are calculated and not what is actually shown to the user? That would explain what we're seeing at the moment.
