    Just wondering if any one has a problem with the cars at night. At night, and at some tracks the cars are black like light is not shining on them

    it works perfectly, studio 397 repaired about 15 or 20 days ago, you have to be inside the tuning for functions, greetings;)

    Not sure if this has been asked already but does anyone know what causes the cars with the new materials to have a pearly shell like appearance on some third party tracks? (So you can't see the paint job very well they just look pearly white.)
    Is it a graphics setting I need to adjust or is it something to do with the third party tracks?

    Maybe these tracks don't have the entries for the reflection mapper in their scn files.

    As I mentioned in another thread I'm not a modder at all. Are the entries in the scn just text entries or are they objects or attributes to textures etc?
    Is there a tutorial for this somewhere? Do you have an excerpt from an scn that shows what you're talking about.

    At least i don't know if there exists a tutorial.
    In the ModDev/Locations folder, go to the joesville/JoesVille_Speedway folder and open the JoesVille_Speedway.scn file with a text editor.
    Scroll to the end of the file and you will find 3 sections.
    ReflectionMapper=REFLECTEDENV
    ReflectionMapper=STATIC01
    ReflectionMapper=REFMAP0
    where all the instances are listed, that shall reflect on the car and on the (wet) track.
    The last section should be the one for the cars, because if i use the reflection mapper for a car, i have to add REFMAP0 to the material settings.
    You can test it, if you enter that section (if they are not there already) into a scn file of a track where it happens and see if that solves the problem.
    Use the JoesVille_Speedway.scn file as the example how it has to look like.

    @Bernd I have checked the .scn and the ReflectionMapper=REFMAP0 section is there and seems to cover most of the things that should reflect so maybe something else :(

    Curious as to whether anyone other than S397 has managed to create a mod with the new shaders incorporated?

    Coutie's IR-18 Indycar has it implemented, but it is encrypted
    The guy that is converting the IMSA DPi's have it enabled as well. Those are the only two that I am aware of at the moment.

    You can load them in the web material editor. They don't work really for modders yet. They're wip, so no documentation will be released until they're ready.
