the earlier sunrise i ever saw in real life was 5:20 but it was way less lighter that this

Depends on where you're living. In Germany, (official)sunrise is @4.40 in the summer and even @4o'clock it is not really dark anymore. Ok, I'm in the most northern part of Germany, but I think in Zandvoort would be not a big difference. But Greece is nearer to the equator and sunrise is later even in the summer IIRC.

I was in Greece for a few months in summer more than 20 years ago, but I was young and can't remember exactly, but I was surprised about the early sunset in southern europe.

19:00 it's dark here. Down south they get to 20:00 during DLS though, 22:30 would be annoying trying to get the kids to sleep hey.

Imagine you would live in northern Scandinavia/Russia/Canada/Alaska (in summer) :D

Exactly, the more north you go, the longer sunlight you will get in summer and the shorter in winter, due to the geometry and angle of the earth relative to the sun. Here in Finland it never gets dark during midsummer season.

Looking at the GDB, Zandvoort event date is defined as 26th June, which is pretty much peak sunlight time of the year. rF2 has ways to calculate the correct sun position given the coordinates of the track and the date of the event.

Possibly something like this is going on
    [IMG]

P.S. it is awesome how rF2 uses actual ordinates to simulate the time of the daylight.

Why rf2 can not take current date to calc sunset/sunrise by geo coordinates? Give us a check to select default or real date times

Date should be also configurable by plugin interface in case of historic events (low prio however)
