I don’t understand what happened. 4 days ago I played rfactor2 and it worked perfectly. Today I launched the game but it simply doesn’t launch at all.... it doesn’t even load.... it crash to the launcher without any error message. I tried to see if it’s a VR issue and switching to monitor but it s the same thing, game won’t load at all. I disabled my antivirus.... same thing. I run Steam files integrity... same thing. Any idea why it happens?
The entire directory, or a particular sub-directory? [Solved] Figured it out, as suggested on another page it's the contents of the cbash and shaders directories, while leaving the directories themselves.
Sorry, with the multiple 'game won't start' threads I didn't notice yours was a sudden change. I had the same recently and found my plugin variables json was empty. Unfortunately this just makes the game quit instead of showing an error. I hope we get better diagnostic messages where possible (If the game won't run at all because of A/V or system issues then fair enough - but if json files are being read there should be scope for detecting issues). Plus, obviously, something is going wrong to empty the files in the first place.
I think you are completely right. I noticed that a lot of users have these “ undiagnosed “ errors and Studio397 should find the way to resolve this problem.
