I've recently built a new computer and while rFactor 2 runs fine, the show room screen does not seem to work. I have tried a few different cars (MP4/8, FR 3.5 and F2), and I momentarily see the car before the screen goes black and the GPU utilisation goes to 98%.

The system is a Ryzen 3 1200 and Vega 56 on Windows 10. My old system is a i5-660 and GTX 1050Ti on Windows 7, and worked fine, if a little slowly.

    Any ideas?

I don't think it is your new build at all. I just think that you got your machine online after RF2 put out the new build 1112. I say this because my showroom is all black now too, and I have not done anything at all. Secondly, I've already made a few posts about losing all my dashboard lighting. So I am pretty certain the build RF2 released 1112 has caused a lot of lighting issues.

Hello, and thanks for the reply. Are you saying that if I went from a prior version that was updated to 1112 it would be fine, but it's misbehaving because I've gone straight to 1112 from nothing on my new-build? It sounds like a silly question, but as my old system is set to auto-update and so is also on build 1112 and works fine, which is what made me think it's the hardware. I assume yours updated to 1112, but still black screens in the showroom, or was it a fresh install?

I've noticed that it crashes when I press "Race" just when the progress bar reaches the end if I've just been in the "Tuning" screen (i.e. show room) - no error dialogue or anything, it just goes back to the launcher.

Post your config_dx11.ini here, found in rFactor 2\UserData.

Ok, it looks good. I messed with the FSAA settings before and had the game crash right at the end of loading, but yours looks ok.

I was surprised how hot the Vega 56 got while displaying the black screen in the showroom, or even in a simple menu for that matter, so I did a comparison between my old and new systems:

GPU Load in opening Menu: 16% (1050Ti), 71% (Vega 56)
GPU Load after pressing Car: 3% (1050Ti), 24% (Vega 56)
GPU Load after pressing Tuning: 100% (1050Ti), 98% (Vega 56)
GPU Load after pressing Race: 91% (1050Ti), 68% (Vega 56)
    GPU Load while driving: 71% (1050Ti), 61% (Vega 56)

    Are these figures normal?

I'm having the same problem. The showroom loads and displays correctly for a split second, before going black, with only some transparent parts of the car visible. I can't say for sure when this occurred - I've only recently started rF2 up for the first time in ages, and it was immediately like this. The problem's the same with different cars, different showrooms selected, and in different resolutions.

Could really do with some help on this!

I have the same problem, the showroom turns dark and don't see anything. The "simple showroom" doesn't work for me either.
I do not know what to do...

Since I got the black screen in the showroom, and 'fixed' the problem by using the above suggested showroom, S397 seems to have fixed it, as I can now use the default rFactor 2 showroom - I wonder if S397 have fixed it for some but broken it for others?

What is your system's configuration muzikant? Mine is Ryzen 3 1200 on X470 with Vega 56 and Windows 10 1809 (1903 won't work, even with updated RAID drivers!), so it would be interesting to see how yours compares.

Seems as if it is still not fixed.
The default showroom is still black.

Well, all I know is that mine used to work till I changed hardware, then it stopped (which is why I used the alternative show room above), but now it works fine. I imagine it must be hardware related, because mine is definitely okay now - hopefully yours will be too soon.

    Yes, it's working again.
To empty the shaders folders of main game and devmode fixed the problem.
I obviously had forgotten to do that at some former rfactor 2 build update.
