I’m late to this thread, but you have saved me having to post nearly the exact same thing.
The nords we have here doesn’t feel anything like iracings, and for me, iracing tracks are the benchmark

Can you switch between between iRacing and rf2 whithout problem?

I honestly can say that i never feel save when i‘m driving iRacing - regardless the car and track - it feels more like driving to work when the road is slippery and icy in january.

That’s why it has the name Ice Racing haha.

Doesn’t stop me wanting to give it a go.

I was actually faster when I briefly returned to iracing, after playing rf2, but I only did 4 races and got fed up again with the physics and tyre model

The tire model is shit in iRacing, but take the word of WEC Champion Nicki Thiim on that topic (I wish he would update with new rF2 cars):

No problem here switching between Iracing and Rfactor 2 (and also AC, ACC and Raceroom). Don’t know what I’m doing right. :D

imo iracing's ffb & tire model/physics is mainly developed with main focus being on the oval content
-which imo gives the very best experience of any title

road content decent but no where near as good as rfactor2

iRacing used to have a terrible tire model. It still has a bad reputation, but that's undeserved, as it now feels very similar to rF2/AMS/R3E. I only discovered this when I recently tried it again after years away. I imagine there are some bad cars, but that happens in a lot of sims -- rF2 is one of the worst offenders in that department.

I haven't driven the Porsche in iRacing, but I have in the other two. The R3E one was as bad as he said. They've updated the tire model again since then, so I should give it another try. I also agree with him about AC having a very good tire model but mediocre suspension. The suspension thing is an across-the-board problem in that game, and they're still sorting it out in ACC.

iRacings tire model has NOT been updated/changed since Nicki Thiims critique in the video above.
Thiim does not consider iceRacings TM realistic - and say that it feels like using rain tires on a dry track.
My own experience was similiar and that made me abort the membership about 1 year ago.;)

    Wrong.

    Patch from January 10th:

    Porsche 911 GT3 Cup Car (991)
    – An update has been made to the V6 tire construction and compound. These changes should provide faster response without losing over-the-limit controllability.

    Nitpicking.
I was talking about a tire model update not some kind of messing with a single cars tires.
The real TM update was announced about 1 year ago to come some time in the future and was called v7.
But still no sign of it.

Did you watch the video? This is not a car specific issue, he basically says the fundaments of the tire model in iRacing is wrong.
Fixing that car doesn't solve the problems with the tire model. In other videos he is also critizing other cars that he drives.
Official content? Examples please. Mods do not count.

I've seen this video more than once, well before it was posted here. It's old and probably not that relevant anymore -- at least not in regard to R3E and iR. AC hasn't had any changes to speak of since then, so that's the only useful information in the video.

But I'm sure that won't stop you and others from claiming that it's representative thirty years from now.

As for the wildly varying quality of first-party content in rF2, you can easily find examples all over this forum, including a thread listing problems that S397 have ignored, that I made myself, with the help of other concerned parties. Christopher Elliot refuses to even acknowledge me when I ask about the incorrect L/D ratios on the Orecas.

And thank you for telling me that mods don't count. I'm so stupid that I needed someone to let me know that.

Its allways good to read posts from people with an open mind and a polite and/or humorous way of expressing themselves.
Fanboys or haters is often without any sense of humor.:D
