Released Released New Material Editor! (Car Paints)

Make sure that you really have the updates installed. Some times it needs unsubscribe and subscribe the content again.
Also you have to click the "RELOAD" button once when in Showroom. And also make sure your skin is not packed in a MAS already. This works with loose files only (at least currently I think). That should normally get you started

 

So far i know only works whit oficial cars

 

The updates are installed, I have the 2.39 folder of the Bentley in "Vehicles" and also the Templates, with the date of yesterday evening.
And the Bentley definitely is an official car.

 

Have you reloaded your skin? If that also doesn't work, put the region file in there and reload again.

 

Ok, I got a tip which solved the problem: I created my new car from an older car, not from one of the latest version... my fault.

 

Check to see if there's a json file in with the car. It's that, that the painteditor is looking for, not the region DDS.

I did create a new car for the Callaway last night and all I got was a empty folder. It did have the veh name that I use to get all my old skins working.

 

I had that problem last night but it was because I had used a driver name that was already in use. I started again using a unique driver and it worked. (Mercedes here)

 

Is it just me or why does the Bentley psd template not have the Alpha Channel group and the Region group?

I tried with Corvette GTE from Endurance Pack

 

Only the GT3s are supported as of now.

 

So how do i get the correct template for the Bentley? I just removed it from the templates folder thinking it would possibly sync and put the correct one in there but no.

 

Looks like you will need to unsubscibe from the car in Steam workshop and resubscribe

 

Yeah cant unsubscribe paid content. I will rip the Bentley out of the installed folder and let steam put it back in and see if it updates.
I had problems when it first installed it missed the Austin. It seems the Bentley has not updated in the recent update as it is still version 2.31 and not 2.39. All others seem to have updated!!!

 

You can unsubscribe paid content by going to your Steam profile page and then inventory. That'll link you to a workshop page where you can un- and then re-subscribe.

I've unsubscribed paid content several times. However you can't KEEP it unsubscribed. Steam will down-load it again next time your run Steam. Which is usually the method used to correct these problems. Best of Luck.

 

Is it just me or can't you choose Endu lights and position panel on your custom skin ?
I don't know what I should think about this new system.
Yes, it's great to be able to do such cool stuff.
Yes, it's really easy to do once you get what and why you're doing it.
BUT, It's quit buggy and I get the feeling it often don't work as it should be.
Errors when changing anything in the Browser UI and you have to click refresh everytime you change something.
Old paints shining through the new skin.
Fiddling in .ini files because they system don't find .dds files etc.
I have quit a few Skin ideas, but for now I will wait for more bugfixes.
Happy for the people who don't have any problems but it seems thats not always the case.

 

I used the position lights on my skins. And the old skins are showing through because you haven't set up the regions. It's not a bug.
