Well i figured I would post a topic here as a few recommended I did. Anyway over the past few months @DA-DIGGA has been converting my Bridgehampton to rF2. After Watkins was finished I asked if he was interested in doing The Bridge. I am pleased to say he has done yet another amazing job on the conversion. Mod History: The original track for AC was my first ever attempt at building a race course for any sim. it was a dream of mine since the GPL days to have an accurate Bridgehampton. I grew up near it and could hear the cars on a clear day. Sadly by the time I was old enough to drive the track was closed and promptly converted to a golf course. This track was built from a 2'x4' topo map from 1990 with 5' contour lines. I originally used only this to assemble the track and it was fairly faithful to the real thing. After my initial 1.0 release I found a better aerial image of the track and found while the elevations were pretty accurate on the topo the actual layout was not. So I then began to rebuild the track with the new aerial, 2004 lidar data of T1-2 (they still existed then) from @Emery, and studying many old grainy videos of the track on youtube. In the end it was worth it as it matched up much better to the real thing that it did previously. So anyway enough rambling. I present to you my baby and my all time favorite circuit. Make sure your wheel is locked down tight as it is going to be a bumpy ride! Workshop rfcmp
This was one of my favourite tracks in AC for testing cars. Fast, bumpy and challenging corners. Nice to see it in rF2 Thanks for sharing with the rF2 community. Great job on the conversion.
This track is one of my favorites in all mods. This version for rF2 is the best of the bunch. Thank you.
THE best track on rF2 atm with Sebring. Yep, thats how good this is. Pure perfection from textures to tarmac feel. Whip out the March and go on a joyride. Thank LilSki & Digga!
Yeah, I have to agree that regarding tarmac feel and textures this is up there with Sebring. Great job and thanks guys
Absolutely agree, can't stop testing at it all cars i have installed. Sorry to be that guy, but i'm gonna be that guy: next step, Riverside
Oh my god yes. I would die from joy. Also, yes testing every single car on Bridge! Really enjoying March on it with some setup tweaks to keep the car down through cornering. The March AI has a lot of trouble on it though. They drive fast but they have a hard time with the bumps and dips before/after corners i think since it lifts/pushes down and then lifting the suspension. Those are even hard on the limit for human beings, lol. Some other cars drive really fast and good though. Can the AIW be per car type or is it just one fits all?
It 'could' be car specific, but you would have to create each file, then manually swap them before launching steam/rF2.
Congrats, great job, I love the bumps and the feeling I'll die in every moment, that's how it must be.
Had several races so far, each in a different car with the AI. So far, I've had a full-course yellow in every race. As has been mentioned, I'm sure it's the AI having issues with the bumps and cornering...it's quite tricky at times . Great work on making the conversion better than the original . Edit: the Palatov runs races just fine with AI, so does the Howston G4. I'm sure RIR would be nice too, but I'd be more interested in Calabogie if the owners would allow a conversion of that when you're done.
Great job, the natural and fast flow is second to none. Mistakes in the high speed sections are paid cash!. Thanks and cheers.
Firstly great track and as per usual a great conversion to RF2, Many Thanks for your efforts. Secondly I've only run a quick Race Weekend but noticed a minor AIW issue: On the Start Finish Straight the cars in the FAST Path slow down to a standstill when a car is exiting the Pit Lane, tweaking of the Pit Lane Exit AIW may be in order to rectify thanks
Many thanks for the convert... "What is an upright Walt?" "It's the business end of the rear suspension."
