iRacing, rF2 and AMS; perhaps the titles with the most "Simulation Value" available today but, iRacing has a few standout features that need to be included in rF2. Online racing system aside, the drive-train model is really impressive in motion and the audio is also pretty advanced with another update in the works. Of course, these are not primary concerns but, I do hope they are on the long-list of updates still to come.
Have you voted here already ? Lets keep the lead https://www.racedepartment.com/thre...loper-of-the-year.163072/page-13#post-2888463
I'm sorry I don't think it was necessary, but I suspect Kunos fans has done that already judging by gap shrinking at one specific time (but I don't know if it is true). So just for fun Anyway I'm very happy that work of great simulators developers got reflected in the votes. Kunos, Reiza, Studio 397, they are all winners. I suppose iRacing miss good amount of votes there, because iR fans does not come to RD as much as fans of other titles.
Congratulations S397. That's a bad bad car. It takes 2 seconds of comparison with the real life car to notice many issues with the model, and once again, the materials look awful. Another rushed car that fanboys will enjoy.
I was looking for a while for this post, and now I finally found it to comment on it. PXi wasn't something completely new. I think it was mentioned by URD as something they were looking at. There was this preview from when the Detroit was initially previewed. Nothing has been seen of this car since (May 2018). To my ability, it looks like the Dallara LMP2 which would be the base of the Caddy. https://twitter.com/UnitedRDesign/status/992076343092432897 https://forum.studio-397.com/index....rder-with-beta-access-available.48293/page-76
LOL, do you really think that at the Aston Martin HQ they don't know how their car is? Do you really think that S397 failed to put the fuel filler in the wrong side? Do you really think that AM's chiefs didn't noticed a different front bumper if it's wrong? Do you even know that this car has not raced yet, the real picture are from a early preview and the real car is still in development? Damn, here they used a fake Vantage GT3...
Without being very picky model looks pretty good to me, except rimblur and lowpoly headlight lines, thats not passing.
You literally said "It takes 2 seconds of comparison with the real life ". People are actually more open to constructive criticism than you might believe. It's the rushed, cynical, mindless bashing that gets on people's nerves.
Several people have posted screen shots of the 'bad' modeling. To their trained eyes, certain issues jump out clearly to them. But when these screenshots are posted and the fellow writes....JUST LOOK AT IT!!!! Well many of us just don't know what we are supposed to see. To users who see a problem, It would help present your case if you circled or highlighted the issue. You might clearly see the low polys around the headlight while I'm looking for how many filaments are visible in the head light. It would make these conversations easier for all to understand if we are given a target. Just posting the model is rotten doesn't help users not familiar with 3d modeling. Mentioning smoothing as if we all know it's purpose can also inhibit conversation. I know experienced 3d modelers understand these complaints, but the vast number of readers here are probably less than literate on the peculiarities of a sharp edge, a missing gmt or all the other voodoo that makes up the shape of a car.
