rFactor doesn't launch when clicking single player. I have tried uninstalling the game multiple times. I have tried reinstalling the redistributables. Nothing seems to fix it and get it running. over the last few weeks it has worked only once or twice. I know my PC is more than capable of running rFactor 2. Why won't this damn game launch. Really frustrating as I have tried all suggestions to no avail. Fix your broken game.
We'll need some more details to help you out here What are your PC specs, and are you running any third party plugins? Is this VR or screen(s)?
I'm running a single monitor display PC SPECS i7 8086k CPU 1070 ti GPU Asus Maximus X Hero Z370 Mobo 16gb DDR4 RAM Thrustmaster TX Wheel.
No errors. I click on single player nothing happens. The launcher comes back in a split second. No splash screen or anything.
Can you try regenerating a new UserData folder? Just copy the existing one out to the desktop or wherever.
I am having the same issue, but it goes further into multiplayer as well. Deleted the UserData folder as you said and launched. Exactly the same issue, only this time it takes longer to crash, i.e. I see the rF2 logo for longer before going back to the launcher.
I tried it this morning as well but still doesn't launch. I have also underclocked my components to no avail
I finally got it working again! I had Rfactor 2 installed on ssd but to save some space on it I made a virtual link on the steam's workshopfolder that was placed on my hdd so I kept only the tracks on Rfactor's folder on ssd for faster loading times. It worked very well for a good time... I unsubscribed from all the workshop content, unnistaled the game, excluded all the remaining folders that were left from my hdd and ssd (incluiding the virtual link) and installed it again... IT WORKED! My PC broke on the following morning so I didn't try to make the virtual links again If you guys works with virtual links, that could be the cause of it and suspect is not necessary to unsubscribe from the workshop content like I did.
No, I found out it was a problem with the power supply that went dead, so it is definitely not related to what broke in my PC. I actually got to play a little bit in a single player after I done those procedures. I threw just a few laps but it worked fine.
