I wish a realistic clutch/gear change. The most realistic possible on rF2. IMPORTANT : I note that most people coming from other simulations require it, some have even considered that rF2 was not realistic enough because of that !!!! Wrong of course. They also mentioned the hands and arms that do not move to shift gears (visually), but I do not think it's relevant. rF2 lost several simracers because of that (I assure you!). I saw this on French simracing forum.
+1 but s397 promote mainly modern cars, so they are all automatic - no realistic clutch needed P.S. at least i wish in engine damage if you don' lift trottle upshifting and downshifting.
Not because you changed too aggressively, but because of the poor (or almost non existing) drivetrain model. Almost all modern racecars (GT3, GTE, LMPs etc.) have a downshift (and upshift) protection. So you can't shift (or better it won't) if it will damage the engine. In rFactor you can go full speed, and while being full throttle you can shift down to first.
Wasn't this covered in this thread https://forum.studio-397.com/index....cars-shifting-plausibility.61432/#post-964514

Whaaa !! And do we know if S397 has planned something ? It would be a good news and I think that's important.
Speaking for myself, I'm hoping after the latest round of graphical improvements we get some actual gameplay improvements. There have been some physics tweaks over the years, and a little gameplay stuff (weather support has improved somewhat for example, then there's been some vehicle systems like DRS, among others), but nearly constant graphical improvements. If we get another two years in and they're still working on the latest graphics tech I'll be about ready to give up.
