    Yes. Don't know exactly how this worked in 1978 but there was a pop-off valve that limited the amount of boost. Rumor was that AJ Foyt always got a "special" pop-off valve at Indy later in his career.

    Penske won Indy with the "just inside the rules' stock block in 1994. The next year, his two series champs couldn't even qualify. Some pop-off valves, which were tightly controlled by the USAC series, could pop open earlier than expected. Robbing power down those long Indy straights.

    That Chaparral would have made Al Unser Sr a 5 time winner of the Indy 500 if they had sorted out the cooling completely. But then if Andy Granatelli's Jet car was built to last, Mario Andretti would have won a decade earlier.

    Mmmm 1978, my fav mod in rF1 was F1 of 1979, I wonder what Indy car of that era was like. I know little about indycar, I am surprised to find that they raced in Europe

    wtf.......Al Unser drove the only Lola T500, there was no other Driver in this Car in 1978?

    Yes sir, great so far, looking forward to driving this one..... need a 78' version of Indy to drive it on.
